美國疫情已經大幅緩解並逐步進入完全解封的狀態，因此反而更容易看到疫情在特定產業身上留下的永久傷害。漫畫和影視產業的年度盛會聖地牙哥國際漫畫展 Comic-Com 經歷去年的停辦之後，接下來將在7月23日以線上版的方式舉辦 Comic-Con@Home，但向來是展會最大的兩家參展廠商—— Disney 的 Marvel Studio 和 Warner 的 DC Films ——都將缺席今年的活動。尤其 Dc Films 自從2018年派出 Gal Gadot 和 Patty Jenkins 與會並在活動中揭露《Wonder Woman 神力女超人》的片段之後已經連續第三年 的活動。Disney 則在疫情期間慢慢學會在自家的投資人大會中發布 Marvel 影視新作的成效似乎更好，加上線上版的 Comic-Con 既沒有現場粉絲也沒有現場媒體，因而也有樣學樣決定從 Comic-Con 脫隊。會展產業就像影展、電影院產業一樣，被過去一年多的疫情逼向了命運轉折點。

Universal 年底和 HBO 的 Pay 1 合約年底到期後不再續約，而明年開始 Universal 電影從電影院下檔之後的路徑安排則慢慢被媒體拼湊出來。雖然 Universal 的動機是用自家大片去幫忙同集團的串流服務 Peacock 拼業績，但半路殺出顯然出價難以拒絕的 Amazon。所以明年開始《Jurassic World 侏羅紀世界》系列電影中的迅猛龍移動的路線大約是：先跑去 Peacock 4個月，然後再殺去 Amazon Prime Video 打工 10各月，接著再回防 Peacock 4個月。除了《侏羅紀世界》系列之外，Universal 手上還有《Fast & Furious 玩命關頭》系列和廣受小朋友歡迎的《Minions 小小兵》系列。想像一下如果這些重量級軍火如果不是落在 Peacock 和 Amazon 手上，而是落在 Disney 或是 Netflix 手上，肯定將會是串流大戰中的決定性時刻。然而考量到 Amazon 正在併購 MGM，來日慢慢收回龐德電影的串流合約之後，讓龐德和迅猛龍、小小兵同台也仍有可能在戰局中吹皺一池春水。

歐洲電影學院主席同時也是著名波蘭導演 Agnieszka Holland 在坎城影展的線上演說中批評串流平台正在用演算法的巨大黑洞殺死獨立電影，因為她認為獨立電影需要活生生的策展人、影評人和研究者才能擁有一席之地，而不是演算法。不過這篇報導點名了幾個國際串流品牌之外，許多主題式的串流品牌正在運用他們的資金幫上很多獨立創作者的忙。比如主打藝術電影的 Mubi 早就買下在坎城首映的 Leos Carax 導演新片《Annette》，而 AMC 電視網旗下主打恐怖片的串流品牌 Shudder 則買下去年威尼斯影展首映的波蘭導演 Filip Jan Rymsza 作品《Mosquito State》。著名的歐洲發行商 Wild Bunch 才剛剛推出自家串流服務 Wild Side TV，將他們過去發行的許多獨立電影以夾帶廣告的方式在網路上播放。Wild Bunch 認為在媒介更迭越來越快的年代，歐洲不能沒有自已的串流聲量，完全把舞台讓給美國串流平台。
