I have read about how aggressive they were and had attacked humans for food, but I think we all can coexist peacefully together. Very often in Singapore, we heard about the culling of animals due to complaints from residents, they felt that these animals such as wild boars, chickens, and even cats and dogs have encroached on their living space. Although I wasn’t perturbed by such problems directly, but I think there should be a better solution than culling and complaining. How old do you think this tree is? 😍 People like pointing out trees that are hundreds of years old - anomalies in a barren landscape of development. The lone survivor against all odds, each culling taking down more of his brethren. I’m really looking forward to my next read, the highly acclaimed ‘The Overstory by Richard Powers’. I finally found a #secondhand copy locally. A book about trees printed on what was once a tree. But brings me the wisdom of what they mean to this world and us, and how we must defend them against all odds. It takes minutes to cut down what has grown for centuries, an afternoon to clear a forest of them.
