.
can’t make an omelet without breaking eggs 因此,can’t make an omelet without breaking eggs 就是「有得必有失」的意思。
e.g. You can’t make an omelet without breaking eggs – how can you expect good results when you don’t study hard?
e.g. If you don’t work out and don’t count calories, how can you get in shape? You can’t make an omelet without breaking eggs.
.
have egg on your face
e.g. The odd question he asked left him with egg on his face.
e.g. His girlfriend rejected John when he popped the question. No wonder he had egg on his face.
.
e.g. When my little brother speaks better English than I do, I don’t know where to put myself.
.
e.g. I was mortified to find that my son, aged 15, still can’t tie his shoelaces.
e.g. They looked very abashed when their son wetted himself in public.
e.g. His hangdog look told us he couldn’t fool his parents into believing his blatant lie.
.
put all your eggs in one basket
e.g. I don’t want to put all my eggs in one basket, so I’m trying to ask several girls out!
e.g. If you don’t want to put all your eggs in one basket, I suggest applying to more than one company.
.
e.g. I did not want to tell such a monstrous lie, but many friends egged me on.
e.g. If I were you, I won’t egg her on. At the end of the day, who can guarantee success?
.
e.g. Her hare-brained idea was booed at the meeting.
e.g. He hared across the pedestrian crossing to catch the last bus of the day.
——————————————
Paper 3 Part B!🎊

=================================
--------------------------------------------------
1) Play a role
は、「I’m expecting you to play an important role in the marketing department.」になります。
✔︎「~で活躍する」は「Play a role in _____.」
<例文>
I heard you are playing an important role for your new company.
She is playing a significant role in the entertainment industry.
I’m hoping you’ll play a big part in the upcoming project.
--------------------------------------------------
2) Works in/for
✔︎「~(会社名)で活躍をする」は「Work for/at _____.」
<例文>
My friend is a singer who works in Japan.
He is web developer who works for Facebook.
She is a musician who works all over the world.
--------------------------------------------------
3) Renowned
<例文>
Ken Watanabe is a world-renowned actor.
Keigo Higashino is a renowned author in Japan.
She is a renowned around the world as the top medical researcher.
--------------------------------------------------
4) I’m hoping for your success
✔︎「I wish you the best of luck.(活躍を祈っています。)」
✔︎「Wishing you nothing but success.(活躍を祈っています。)」
<例文>
Good luck! I’m sure you’ll be successful in Los Angeles.
Best of luck in your future endeavors.
I’m positive you will continue to be successful.
--------------------------------------------------
5) Have a big impact on
<例文>
Masahiro Tanaka had a big impact on the game.
You played a sensational game!
For us to win tonight, you have to impact the game.

//"But Beijing’s paranoia and fear of its own people’s aspirations have led it to eviscerate the very foundation of the territory’s success, turning “One Country, Two Systems” into “One Country, One System."//
//The United States will not stand idly by while China swallows Hong Kong into its authoritarian maw. //

Quincy,
The first thing is to be humble with your creativity and graceful with your success.
Be humble, be graceful.
