Recently revisited this old demo of an English song I wrote called, "Dry Eyes". Just for fun, I made a simple lyric video to the song. I remember when I wrote this, it was during a really dark period in life where things were really starting to spin outta control, and I was contantly losing my battles with a certain vice. Truly only by the grace of God was I able to survive and walk out of that darkness, and for that I am grateful. Please feel free to take a listen if you like.
Oh btw, I know I can't sing. That's why I always brought in other people to sing choruses and stuff. But for this one, I sang all the choruses myself. Please be gentle. 😅

最近找到很久以前的一首英文歌demo叫做「Dry Eyes不哭的雙眼」，最近有空就隨便做了一支純歌詞的MV。我還記得當時寫這首歌的我跟現在的我差很多，那時候我的狀況不是很好。Thank God 我能夠走出那時候的低潮期！喔，對了，這首歌裡是我自己唱副歌的，所以請別太嚴格對待！我知道我不是很會唱歌的！😅

❰淡水殼牌倉庫 ❱
因為下週要在聯成外語上開一場半美語的淡水解說講座，因此這裡用幾個舊時的台語詞句帶出殼牌倉庫的歷史。
1. 三美路
殼牌石油的創始人是Samuel Brothers。因為姓 Samuel所以旗下分公司就叫做 Samuel & Samuel Company，並且成為為臺灣引入機器製磚技術的公司。當時製磚工廠設於今日的松山塔悠路（舊稱「錫口」）一帶，故又稱作「錫口磚」。三美路生產的紅磚其上會有S的標誌。
2. 臭油棧
1907年殼牌公司成立，在世界各地做販賣各種油類產品的生意。三美路被Samuel兄弟併入殼牌公司旗下，在台灣經營煤油及其他油類生意。因為煤油具有植物性油類的臭味特性，故被淡水當地人稱為臭油。儲存與煉製的地點也就被稱為臭油棧。
3. 迺生產
迺生產英文名稱為Rising Sun Copmany，是殼牌公司透過在日本的分公司在台設立的子公司，目的是藉由日本地緣與政治關係期望能夠更順利經營油業。至於為什麼 Rising Sun會變成迺生產的發音，我可以直接理解 sing sun音譯做台語的生產。但是迺(ㄋㄞˇ)為什麼會譯做 rising的 ri的部分呢? 我試著不同發音想要找出兩者之間的關係，最後把 rising sun的片假名日文用google 翻譯發出聲音，瞬間秒懂! 原來 rising 的ri在日文中聽起來就像是來這個字。又因為日文中的R是介於L和R之間的聲音，所以產生了一點N的聲音。
當年美軍要轟炸台灣之前，針對淡水的重要設施調查過一次。在地圖上標記了Rising Sun（日出）的殼牌倉庫註定會被炸毀的命運。
4. 火車吃水
在殼牌倉庫園區中還能看到當年將煤油從園區運到淡水支線的軌道。舊的淡水火車站會在火車發車前填充蒸汽火車需要的水以及煤炭，並且發出嗚嗚的聲音，是沒有鐘錶的當地人的報時工具。火車補水的動作也就被台語稱為火車吃水。
