I'm still taking in 2021.
I mean, I still not in the time zone of 2021, mentally. But I know that every day, every second, every breath will be a good start for a new chapter.
As I was thinking about discussing a sensitive topic (eating disorder, which is super prevalent yet sensitive in Asia) publically, one of you sent a message to me, for help.
When I read the message, my heart sank down. I felt you, girl, really. That brought me to think about what I should and want to do, no matter what.
I also challenge myself again with some of my old "fear food", refined sugar, oil, white flour, etc. So I make some vegan cupcakes topped with vegan frosting.
They are packed with many things that diet culture taught us as "unhealthy," but deep inside my body tells me it's all good, they are all good. It's your mindset that's unhealthy, the mindset that haunted by an eating disorder.
I'm at a much better place right now. I trust my body than my mind. I eat without any judgment on the foods that are ready to nourish my body and my mind.
I hope I could share this feeling, courage, and vulnerability with you.
BTW, these cupcakes are not bad but not perfect yet, waiting for more testing.

I'm so checked out.
You show up for work, but you are mentally "checked out."
ex:
I need to complete this project, but my vacation starts in two days. I can't seem to concentrate. I've completely checked out.

The insanity defense, also known as the mental disorder defense, is an affirmative defense by excuse in a criminal case, arguing that the defendant is not responsible for their actions due to an episodic or persistent psychiatric disease at the time of the criminal act. This is contrasted with an excuse of provocation, in which the defendant is responsible, but the responsibility is lessened due to a temporary mental state.

2. mental disorder
3. an affirmative defense

8. a criminal act
9. an excuse of provocation
10. be lessened
11. a temporary mental state 暫時的精神狀態
