Summary: We’ll forever remember this unnamed Moai, who was feeling the breeze and watching the world in leisure with its peers as unusual when the brakes of a truck uphill failed, causing the vehicle to knock the poor statue into pieces as well as dealing immeasurable and irreversible damage to the UNESCO World Heritage site.  In retrospect, the residents of the island should never have been against banning cars from going near the Moais; as they say, “don’t say I didn’t warn you.” .
