Onto year 26...
Before moving to Taiwan 1.5 years ago, I was nervous and scared as hell. I’ve always been a pretty social person, but moving to a new country with a whole new language and a completely different culture really intimidated me. I didn’t know if I’d be able to connect with Taiwanese people my age, let alone have a tightly-knit group. I didn’t know if my broken Chinese would hinder me from making bonds and friendships.
Yet, this past weekend, I celebrated my birthday with a group of friends that have been my workout partners, my translators, my support system, my travel buddies, and my best friends since I came to Taiwan. And to think that I’ve only known them all for a little over a year truly blows my mind because I can’t imagine life without them.
So to my crew, thank you guys. Thank you for being my home away from home 🥰 Thank you for celebrating my birthday with me and being down to play board games after dinner instead of going to a club/bar 😂 I love you all ~
Also, an extra special happy birthday to my birthday buddy @bling0123 !! Wouldn’t want to share a birthday with anyone else 🎂🎉
