這可能是我在臉書上最常收到的問題之一。如訂閱者所知，粉絲專頁為學生與老師提供大量的免費英文學習資源。有時，尤其是最近，幾乎每天都會收到這個問題。 此一問題可能表明，學習者並不清楚自己的學習目標，抑或被網路上大量的資訊所淹沒。 以下的一些資訊希望可以幫助同學找到適合自己的學習方式。

This is probably one of the most common questions we get on Facebook. The page provides free learning resources to about 50K English teachers and learners, so we receive this question on a daily basis. The question shows that learners are either unclear about their own learning goals or simply overwhelmed by the vast amount of information on the web. Here are some suggestions:

What do you want to achieve?

Rather than asking what the best way to learn English is, ask yourself what you want to achieve with English? Do you want to actively participate in daily conversations or publish your thesis in English? Perhaps you would like to study abroad as a graduate student? What are your goals? Having a clear set of goals and achieving them can provide you with sustained motivation, even though your goals might change down the road.

Consider external factors

Remember, external factors can affect your learning. How much time do you have every day? Do you have access to a teacher? Do you have to pass the TOEFL or IELTS in three months? Can you set aside time every day for continuous learning?

If I were learning Spanish and I had all the time in the world, I would just find some materials online, immerse myself in the language, and practice as much as possible with Spanish speakers. However, everyone's situation is different.

Most of the problems listed above can be overcome, especially with online resources, but you still need to be realistic in setting your goals. For example, it would be immensely difficult for most to commit to studying English three hours a day because of work and family obligations. The more realistic your goals are, the more likely you are to accomplish them.

As for learning materials, it depends on your current level and once again, your goal. You can find a suitable starting point by taking a language assessment and asking a teacher for advice. The main point is to find resources that provide comprehensible input, information that you can understand. You want to pick materials that you can MOSTLY understand so that you can focus on key features. If you pick materials that are far beyond your current abilities (e.g. a beginning Spanish learner using doctoral dissertations to learn Spanish), you might have difficulty focusing on anything and may soon give up on your studies.

Tons of free resources can be found online, but not all of them will help you accomplish your goals. For example, it would be unwise to practice speaking by only reading aloud words in a free online dictionary. You need an experienced teacher to help you find suitable materials. You can also ask your classmates and do research on your own.

[TAIPEI - ⭐️ logy 😋]

從開店到現在幾乎每季都有吃。目前為止這季的菜單的水平最高。固定招牌菜當歸蟹肉蒸蛋這次枸杞比以前多放了把整道菜的甜度加重，也剛好把當歸的味道中和，是最平衡的一次。
鱈魚白子和淡淡的cheese sauce加上微烤磨菇片三種味道雖然都是比較濃，但加起來非常平衡。烤豬肉熟度剛好而且很嫩，搭上微酸的配菜和醬汁相得益彰。粉紅色的肉更让我联想起十幾年前在Quintessence吃過的烤豬肉的感覺。
整體除了第一道甜點草每豆花味道像咳藥水以外，其他都完成得很好。 而且這次的擺盤也有很多色顏色，有春天的氣息。

This season’s menu is at its highest level so far amongst almost all other menus I’ve tried since the restaurant first opened.
This time more wolfberry were used in the signature dish chawanmushi with crab meat and Angelica. The increased sweetness of the wolfberry balances the strong flavour of the Angelica and this dish now is a lot more balanced then the past.
The cod shots go, cheese cream sauce and the slightly roasted shaved mushrooms all have its strong and unique flavours and somehow they matched amazingly well putting together.
The roasted local pork is cooked to perfection with very tender texture while remaking the flavour of the meat. Garnished with a mild version of sauerkraut toned down the oiliness of the meat fat making the dish more savoury.
The pink colour of the pork brings back my memories of me having a similar dish in Quintessence more than a decade ago.
Overall other than the first dessert strawberry tofu which tasted like cough syrup with artificial sweetness, other dishes were executed well and balanced.
The use of colourful presentations in the dishes this time gives a good reflection of Spring.

【桃花桃花開了嗎？】(English writing below)
HAVE YOUR PEACH BLOSSOMS BLOOMED?

有自信，或假裝有自信，就能招財嗎？

幾個星期前，一位臉書朋友說，我在臉書直播裡很有自信，而她本身做直播時，難免會緊張。

這讓我想到，自信、美貌與桃花的區別。

當年周杰倫出道時，把鴨嘴帽壓得低低的， 談不上很有自信，專輯卻賣得不清不楚。

和王力宏比起來，周杰倫看起來不怎麼樣，可是卻能夠比王力宏還紅。

為什麼？因為有大桃花，所以人氣才會旺。

出道時，他的桃花不是直接在他的五官上，而是在他的歌曲裡，粉絲才會百聽不厭。

一般人覺得，桃花一定與情色有關。沒錯，所以往往很紅的人，大多都離不開緋聞。周杰倫也曾說，他絕對是個孝子，但不是個好男人。

我在星期四的直播提到，做生意要成功，必須有桃花。

你得有眾人的愛戴、支持和喜歡，無論是供應商、員工、合作夥伴或客人，做起生意來會更容易。

你無法在客人眼中獨一無二，那你就是可以被取代的。

明明賣的是垃圾食品，卻輕而易舉走入小朋友的心，也讓「懂事」的大人欲罷不能。

這就是超級大桃花的魅力。

Is self confidence, or faking it, able to attract wealth?

A few weeks ago, a FB friend remarked that I am very confident in my FB lives, while she was always nervous before her FB Lives.

This got me thinking about the issues of self-confidence, good looks and Peach Blossom luck.

When Jay Chou first debuted, his baseball cap was pulled very low to hide his face, as he was not very confident of himself. Yet, his first album sold like hotcakes.

Compared to Wang Lee Hom, Jay Chou's features are not outstanding. However, his popularity has proven to be more far-reaching than the former.

Why so? Because of his Peach Blossom luck, hence the unexpected rise to stardom.

Jay Chou's Peach Blossom luck isn't directly reflected on his facial features, but in his songs. Hence, fans will attest to the worthiness of listening to his songs a hundred times.

Most people think that Peach Blossom Luck is related to love and lust. They are right. Hence many famous people tend to have some sex-related scandals. Jay Chou once said, he is definitely a filial son, but is not a good man.
