Only a small percentage of the companies cut salaries for their senior executives at all, which is surprising given that the pandemic has crushed profits and sales for many companies, forcing large layoffs. But even among businesses that did cut the boss’s pay, two-thirds of the chief executives took reductions that were equivalent to only 10% or less of their 2019 compensation, according to an analysis by CGLytics, a compensation analysis firm.
只有小部分企業削減執行長的薪水，這在疫情導致許多公司營收和利潤劇減、被迫大裁員之際令人驚訝。不過，根據薪酬分析公司CGLytics的分析，就算在確實遭減薪的執行長中，多達三分之二削減的金額頂多只占2019年薪酬的10%。

【政策簡單說】紓困比一比-就業篇📣

由於COVID-19(武漢肺炎)，各國企業營運受到影響，失業率大幅提升，因此為穩定勞動市場，各國政府也紛紛推出對應方案✨

🇺🇸美國薪資保護計畫(Payroll Protection Program)提供貸款給受疫情衝擊的中小企業發薪水、支付租金和水電費。
🇩🇪德國則持續推動短工津貼計畫(Kurzarbeit)，按照員工實際工作量，由政府與企業共同分擔薪資。
🇹🇼臺灣則針對受衝擊的製造業及商業服務業等，給予薪資補貼。

儘管各國計畫內容略有差異，但相信在政府相挺下，企業都能順利度過難關🤝💪

COVID-19 outbreak has greatly influenced the global economy and labor market, causing surge in unemployment rates and the deceleration of global economic activities. To stabilize the labor market, governments introduce bailout loans.

🇺🇸The U.S. launches Payroll Protection Program to help businesses keep their workforce employed during the pandemic.

🇩🇪Germany continues to promote Kurzarbeit, Short-time work compensation schemes, which provides additional funds so that employees can reduce working hours without a proportional reduction in their take-home pay, and the cost of supplementing the employee's income will be typically shared by the employer and the government.

🇹🇼Taiwan provides Working Capital Loan for manufacturing and service industries affected by COVID-19.

Despite the differences among programs, with the governments’ strong support, SMEs shall revive!

⛑Much of the harm from the coronavirus is unavoidable, but it would be nice if politicians didn’t compound the damage by ignoring the laws of economics. The worst blunder so far on that score is the $600 increase in federal jobless benefits that is already undermining the economic recovery.

⛑On Wednesday we ran an op-ed from Kurt Huffman, whose Portland, Ore., company helps chefs run and staff their restaurants. Because of the coronavirus, he had to lay off 700 people. But some restaurants have adapted with takeout and delivery, so he needs to hire some back.

📰Some extra unemployment insurance is necessary, but the rich extra compensation from the $2.2 trillion Cares Act is encouraging those employees to stay home. Mr. Huffman did the math in his op-ed: A starting wage for a line cook is about $640 a week. Oregon’s unemployment offers about $416 per week. But thanks to the $600 federal bonus, that same worker now collects $1,016. Why would anyone take a pay cut to go back to work?
部分的失業津貼加碼是必須的，但那些2.2兆美元維生法案所帶來的豐厚津貼卻是在鼓勵員工待在家中，Huffman在他專欄中做了個計算：假設一個二廚原先的基本週薪為640美元，奧勒岡州的失業補助提供了每週416元的津貼，但感謝聯邦政府每週加碼的600美元，現在原先每週只領416美元失業補助的廚師變成每週可以領到1016美元，如此為什麼有人要回去上班領較少的薪水呢？
