A lively night of @habibisansg’s in-your-face Middle Eastern-meets-Japanese flavours and @barstoriessg’s drama-mama #cocktails with larger-than-life folks.
Having visited this cosy space before, I was familiar with Chef-owner @jonathanleewe’s style of cuisine, so I insisted on ordering the entire menu. Our group almost achieved this goal save for two dishes but only because we were sent a couple of complimentary off-the-menu items along the way, and those took up considerable tummy real estate 😂.
Upon arrival, @barmandave settled us in and sorted our drink orders swiftly. He didn’t quite stop for the rest of the night as he tackled the ever-flowing orders of different cocktails from us.
Once Chefs Jonathan and @gdnillancius started sending over their food, it also didn’t quite cease till we figuratively waved our little white flag.
Leading the way, insanely crunchy fried chicken skin that had us clucking with delight, as well as a spread of #habibisan’s unique and lip-smacking #mezzes of Babaganoush, Chickpea Hummus, Mentaiko Taramasalata and Pickled Beetroot with Wasabi Cream - to be savoured with warm pita bread. Don’t ask me to pick a favourite as I loved them all.
The smokiness of the baby tomatoes worked wonders for the Burrata dish ($15+) which was delicious on my previous visit but managed to outdo itself that evening.
We had to order the Brussels Sprouts as well for sure because in my opinion, #habibisan does one of the best tasting versions besides Spago at Marina Bay Sands.
As for the Octopus, it boasted an ideal texture but damn, did the accompanying macadamia tahini prove a terrific distraction.
Not surprisingly, all three skewers of grilled meats were fantastic. While @lovezhenia went majorly gaga for the Honeycomb Beef Tripe topped with olive leaf gremolata, @szeliang888 carried the torch for the tender Iberico Pork Jowl with fennel spice and bulldog mayo. I myself was very much taken with the Joojeh Kabab (saffron-seasoned chicken mid-joints) slashed with garlicky toum.
We were then spoiled by the Chefs with off-the-menu Foie Gras prepared “shirako-style”. I enjoyed the cut-through afforded by the bright dressing.

就算依家冇得去旅行,就算冇打算去中東旅遊,一生人都要試一試中東菜!依間餐廳屬Black Sheep旗下,睇過之前佢哋餐廳嘅介紹,都知服務同食物都係超水準,零伏嘅代表✨ 餐廳紅磚牆以及帶民族色彩嘅花紋地磚,充滿異國情調。之前經過lunch time爆多人~ 一入門口係店員超親切如朋友般嘅招待♥️ 而今次試佢哋晚餐6道菜Set Menu ($308/位),可以一次過試哂經典地道嘅菜式~

大家就算冇食過都應該聽過依道菜,可以係中東嘅國民美食🤩 鷹嘴豆磨成泥,再加入欖欖油,芝麻醬 & 少量檸檬汁,令整個質感綿滑~ 普遍會夾埋Pita餅一齊食

沙律配料加入左石榴籽,青瓜,紫洋蔥,脆Pita麵包粒,茴香等,香料味同酸味特別出,係道好refreshing 嘅前菜🥗

•烤原個椰菜花 Roasted Cauliflower
超推薦,雖然看似簡單,但香料味特別濃郁❣️ 椰菜花面層鋪滿Harissa辣醬同茴香粉再攞去烤焗。下層係Zhoug中東青色辣醬。椰菜花咬落爽脆,香料味大爆發

•炸鷹嘴豆泥蔬菜餅 Maison’s Falafel
傳統小食再加以美化同改良~ 鷹嘴豆泥混入蔬菜同芝麻,壓成球狀再拎去炸。食落外脆内濕潤,加埋面層嘅芝麻乳酪醬,調出成個味道

•烤雞肉串 Shish Taouk
雞肉串經過炭烤特別有風味,點埋黎巴嫩香蒜醬Toum,味道偏酸解膩。係肉質唔太嫩口,但肉味就好多濃🐓

Frosé 🍸🌹 人氣超冰凍夏日解暑一流嘅玫瑰紅桑子Cocktail回歸喇!用上frozen玫瑰酒同紅桑子果蓉,質感接沙冰,味道酸酸甜甜帶薄荷清香同花香,亦唔會缺乏酒味~ 係略甜左啲
