ข้อมูลใหม่ล่าสุดจาก JEDEC เป็นข้อมูลมาตรฐาน LPDDR5 (JESD209-5B) ที่รวมถึงการปรับปรุงพัฒนาสเปกต่อยอดของ LPDDR5X ด้วย

ความเร็วที่เพิ่มมากขึ้นนี้มาจากระบบที่เรียกว่า pre-emphasis function เพิ่มประสิทธิภาพการส่งสัญญาณข้อมูลที่ดีมากยิ่งขึ้น ทำให้สามารถเร่งความเร็วสัญญาณนาฬิกาได้สูงขึ้น ลดอัตราการ Error ให้น้อยลง และยังมีเทคโนโลยี decision feedback equalizer (DFE) ต่อ 1 Pin ช่วยเพิ่มความแข็งแรงของ Memory Channel

LPDDR5 นั้นจะมีความเร็วอยู่ที่ 6400 MT/s ส่วน LPDDR5X คือ 8533 MT/s เร็วขึ้นมากกว่าเดิมอีกราว 33%

ปัจจุบันมี 2 บริษัทผู้ผลิตที่รับรองมาตรฐานใหม่ตัวนี้คือ Micron และ Samsung คาดว่าน่าจะได้เห็นชิประบบใหม่กันในเร็ววัน ในขณะที่ Synopsys กำลังพัฒนาตัว Memory Controller เพื่อทำให้ผู้พัฒนาชิป SoC สามารถเพิ่มมาตรฐานแรมตัวนี้เข้าไปใช้งานร่วมด้วยได้
