2021-05-19 17:36:21I recently shared some photos of Luna when she was still a puppy on my Instagram, and a good friend suggested that I should tell more people the story of how we rescued Luna during our vacation.
I told her that I am not a good story teller and I am not good with words.
Anyway, I managed to edit a simple video about Luna’s journey from being a stray at a resort to becoming a part of our family.
We found Luna during our stay at an eco resort in Lombok back in 2018, and we had decided to adopt her. It was definitely a process trying to get her from Lombok to Kuala Lumpur due to language barrier, but we are so happy that she’s here with us now, and that we are able to provide her a safe and happy forever home!
At 3:06 you will see a gorgeous black cat ?⬛
Her name is Raven, and unfortunately, we lost Raven to FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) on the 19th of March 2019 ?

腹膜炎引發敗血症那時候留下的
當時醫生說如果晚半小時送醫我就沒救了
痊癒後傷口又化膿二開了一次，所以疤很寬
之前一直覺得它很大很醜就很少穿比基尼> <
雖然現在還是覺得它很醜啦
但它也是我人生重要事件的一部分
算是勇闖鬼門關的印記？就這樣吧～
I got a scar on my abdomen bcuz of peritonitis when I was just 16.
Always, I feel like that it’s ugly and don’t wanna show them, so I seldom wear bikini b4~
Doctor said that if I came to hospital 30 mins later, I died.
I also had twice surgery for one same things at that time, so the scar is more bigger than usual.
Although I still hate the scar, it does be a major event of my life.
So, whatever, this is what I am🙂

因為貓傳染性腹膜炎診斷困難，目前尚缺乏有效的治療及預防方法。😿
但是別擔心！本院生化所徐尚德副研究員與臺大獸醫系張惠雯老師跨領域合作，透過本院強大的冷凍電子顯微鏡和質譜分析方法，把導致腹膜炎的冠狀病毒看透透，建立了高解析度的第一型貓傳染性腹膜炎病毒表面的「棘狀蛋白分子模型」。
㊙發現冠狀病毒更細微的分子結構有助於了解致病過程，更有助未來疫苗設計與檢測，以及開發相關醫療方法，可望解決愛貓族、獸醫長久以來的棘手問題。
📌徐尚德副研究員表示，除了解析度比過去電子顯微鏡高出超過一百倍外，讓每個原子都能看得清清楚楚，再加上質譜的方法，分析每個醣的化學結構，結合電腦模擬建立模型，將冠狀病毒棘狀蛋白表面所覆蓋的醣衣原子分子構型重現，形成迷彩糖衣。
📌張惠雯副教授表示，冠狀病毒的表面棘狀蛋白會辨識出宿主細胞表面受器分子的立體結構，進而感染，若能了解病毒棘狀蛋白更細微的構造，將有助於解開病毒與宿主細胞結合過程與方法。此次結果只是一小步，但可提供未來治療策略一個新的發展方向。
此研究由中研院、臺灣大學、臺灣蛋白質計畫及科技部資助。論文第一作者為臺灣大學生物化學研究所博士生 #楊子靖。研究成果已於今（2020）年1月3日刊登於《美國國家科學院院刊》（PNAS）。

The recent outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), the Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS), and the severe pig pandemics caused by the emerging porcine coronavirus, remind us how infection by coronaviruses can impact our health and socioeconomics.
Coronaviruses also infect cats and cause feline infectious peritonitis (FIP). Due to the difficulty of diagnosis and the lack of effective treatment and prevention methods, once a cat is infected with the virus that causes the most prevalent serotype 1 cat infectious peritonitis, there is no effective treatment, and the fatality rate is almost 100%. It, therefore, poses an urgent issue for veterinarians.
