We just kicked off our newest batch AppWorks Accelerator #23 yesterday! Welcome to the 34 teams and 66 founders that are joining our founder community. This batch is one of the largest since we started focusing on founders working on AI, blockchain, and Southeast Asia, and we’re really excited by the diversity of the batch in terms of the founders’ experiences and the problems they are solving.

We’re still bullish about the opportunities in AI/IoT, Blockchain/NFT, and SEA. For AW#23, there are 12 AI / IoT related startups, 13 blockchain ones with 8 specifically focused on NFTs, and 9 targeting the Southeast Asia market. This batch is multicultural, with 16 nationalities represented. 21% of the founders are women and 45% are serial entrepreneurs.

We’re looking forward to getting to know these founders and teams better over the next few months. Keep an eye out for notifications about Demo Day later this year!

Ngày của Mẹ (Mother's Day) là một ngày kỷ niệm để tôn vinh các người mẹ và tình mẹ cũng như ảnh hưởng của các bà mẹ trong xã hội. Lễ này được tổ chức vào các ngày khác nhau ở nhiều nơi trên thế giới, phổ biến nhất là trong mùa xuân.
Xuất phát từ bản Tuyên ngôn Ngày của Mẹ ("The Mother's Day Proclamation"), được viết năm 1870 bà Julia Ward Howe. bản tuyên ngôn được xem như là phản ứng ôn hòa đối với sự tàn phá của cuộc Nội chiến Hoa Kỳ cũng như là cuộc Chiến tranh Pháp-Phổ. Bản tuyên ngôn này dựa trên nền tảng của chủ nghĩa nữ quyền, với ý tưởng người phụ nữ cũng có trách nhiệm uốn nắn xã hội trên con đường chính trị. Đây là một trong những lời kêu gọi đầu tiên để tôn vinh các người mẹ tại Hoa Kỳ.
Theo Wikipedia, bà Julia Ward Howe có ý định thành lập một ngày lễ mang tên "Ngày của Mẹ vì Hòa bình" (Mother's Day for Peace), nhưng phong trào này dần lụi tàn vì không đủ kinh phí và không vượt ra khỏi khu vực địa phương.

Tuy nhiên, ý tưởng của bà Howe đã gây ảnh hưởng lớn đến không ít phụ nữ trong xã hội, điển hình là bà Ann Maria Reeves Jarvis, nữ giáo viên tại trường học của ngôi thánh đường mang tên Thánh Andrew tại thành phố Grafton, tiểu bang Tây Virginia.
Trong bối cảnh Nội chiến Hoa Kỳ, bà Ann Maria Reeves Jarvis tập hợp các phụ nữ khác với sứ mệnh chăm sóc cho các thương binh từ cả hai miền Nam Bắc. Sau khi cuộc chiến chấm dứt, bà khởi xướng phong trào mang tên Ngày các Hiền Mẫu làm việc (Mothers' Work Days) vào năm 1858 cùng với các bà mẹ của các chiến binh từ cả hai miền để nhấn mạnh các hoạt động xã hội vì hòa bình và hòa giải. Ann Maria Reeves Jarvis qua đời tại thành phố Philadelphia vào năm 1905. Tại ngôi mộ của mẹ mình, cô con gái Anna Marie Jarvis thề rằng sẽ nối gót theo chân mẹ và thành lập một ngày lễ dành riêng cho các bà mẹ, còn sống cũng như đã qua đời.

Hai năm sau đó, năm 1907, cô Anna Marie Jarvis tổ chức một buổi lễ nhỏ tưởng niệm mẹ mình. Năm 1910, Thống đốc bang Tây Virginia, William E. Glasscock là người đầu tiên công bố ngày của mẹ.[2] Cô Anna Marie tiếp tục tranh đấu không ngừng để quảng bá ngày lễ này khắp nơi.

Năm 1914, bản nghị quyết do Quốc hội lưỡng viện Hoa Kỳ thông qua và được Tổng thống Woodrow Wilson ký đã chính thức thành lập Ngày của Mẹ vào ngày Chủ Nhật thứ 2 trong tháng 5.[2] Từ đó, lễ vinh danh hiền mẫu đã lan rộng và đã được thông qua bởi các quốc gia khác và hiện nay được tổ chức trên toàn thế giới.

Nội dung đáng chú ý của Bản Tuyên ngôn ngày của Mẹ được bà Julia Ward Howe viết năm 1870 tại Boston (Hoa Kỳ) có đoạn: "Chúng ta, những phụ nữ của quốc gia này sẽ không thể ép buộc những người mẹ ở quốc gia khác cho phép con trai của chúng ta - những người được huấn luyện để gây ra thương tích cho con cái họ. Từ lòng đất bị tàn phá, tiếng nói phát ra từ chính chúng ta rằng "Giải giáp, giải giáp! Thanh gươm giết người không phải là cán cân công lý. Máu không lau sạch sự bất lương của chúng ta cũng như bạo lực là biểu hiện của sự chiếm hữu..."

Arise, all women who have hearts, Whether our baptism be of water or of tears!

Say firmly: “We will not have great questions decided by irrelevant agencies, Our husbands will not come to us, reeking with carnage, for caresses and applause.
