The Pokemon Company ได้ประกาศเปิดตัว Pokémon TCG Live เกมการ์ด Pokemon ภาคใหม่ที่พัฒนาต่อยอดมาจากเกม Pokemon TVG Online จะเตรียมเปิดให้เล่นผ่าน PC, MacOS และ iOS/Android ในเร็ว ๆ นี้

Pokemon TVG Online ยังมีระบบการเล่นคล้ายกับเกมภาคก่อน แต่ได้เพิ่มระบบใหม่เช่น Online Matchmaking, Battle Pass, ยกระดับการปรับแต่งตัวละครให้มีรายละเอียดเพิ่มมากขึ้น และเปลี่ยนกราฟิกตัวละครจากโมเดล 2 มิติ กลายเป็น 3 มิติ แต่อย่างไรก็ตาม ในภาค Live ได้ตัดฟีเจอร์ "Trading" ซึ่งทำให้เพลเยอร์ไม่สามารถแลกการ์ดได้อีกต่อไป

นอกจากนี้ ผู้เล่นสามารถโอนข้อมูลความคืบหน้าเช่น สถิตและการ์ดจาก Pokemon TVG Online ไปเล่นต่อในภาค Live ได้ โดยทีมงานยืนยันว่าภาค Online จะปิดให้บริการทันทีหลังจากภาค Live เปิดให้เล่นอย่างเป็นทางการ ซึ่งทางทีมงานจะมีประกาศรายละเอียดเพิ่มเติมอีกครั้งในอนาคต

Pokémon TCG Live ยังไม่มีกำหนดการเปิดให้เล่นอย่างเป็นทางการ แต่คาดว่าตัวเกมจะเปิดให้เล่นทดสอบ Beta ภายในปีนี้
