《我適合當英文老師嗎》 也不一定是英文，其他語言也可以。我自己覺得教英文，不管是傳統的面授還是線上，或是現在這種自媒體的形式，很大的一個特點在於你收到的回饋是很即時性的，而且相較其他的技能來講，教語言比較容易深入去聊生活各層面的事情。 我最最最一開始就是學生時期教小孩，那時候覺得，我講得真的爛到靠北，我如果自己是學生一定超不想聽自己教，但還是盡量講。後來我半工半讀，隨著年紀有了更多的經驗跟知識，開始只接觸成年人、社會人士，也就是多是正在看這篇文章的你們！其實當語言老師不是說你很會講這個東西就好，有人說對啊那要很會教，我甚至覺得你除了會教是基本，還要跨出舒適圈，有時候講一兩句別的東西丟一點問題給人家，製造互動甚至笑料。 我覺得超難，我不是一個很嘻嘻哈哈喜歡聊天講幹的人，一開始覺得跟我教的對象聊天很彆扭，「他會不會覺得我在講廢話」「他會不會覺得我分享我今天在健身房被搭訕很無聊甚至覺得我在炫耀」就是超多小劇場。 我真的覺得身為語言老師，流暢掌握一個課堂、一個談話的節奏，是可以慢慢練習的。有一次我在說 impetuous 魯莽草率 adj. 這個字，我就說「搭配詞我們可以接 promise 承諾，草率的承諾，就像政府說疫苗大家都有得打，啊其實根本沒有，等得要死，這就是 impetuous promise」聽課學員就笑了。你不用去想那麼多別人會不會覺得你講的話怎樣，頂多覺得「喔、恩恩」，如果覺得有適合的生活舉例或是小事情可以分享，作為教學加深學員印象的素材，你就講，生在同一個社會之下自然有許多酸甜苦辣是我們跟學員會有所共鳴的，把這些東西融合到我們教的內容，再用你自己的語氣，適當程度地去誇飾、添醋、自嘲，其實是可以掌握製造笑料的技巧的。 其他的基本專業知識、教育背景是最最基本的，其他技巧還有包含肢體語言表達 (面對面學員會不會緊張、不敢笑)、口語溝通流暢 (會不會講話很多贅字、發語詞？有的話要我們就要改掉) 、臨場反應 (學員困惑的話有沒有辦法馬上找別的例子給他看)、邏輯推理 (能不能讀心術馬上判斷學員答錯可能是什麼原因，搬出來講解講到他心坎裡) 說到底其實老師有一個比較沉重的負擔，就是不能出錯。上一段講的東西很多工作都要這些技能，出錯可能就是被 fire 再去找工作，但如果身為老師出錯，不要說人家fire還是撻伐，可能連自己都原諒不了自己：「我是老師我居然出錯」「我不夠好」「我誤人子弟」「我講這個東西到底是不是這樣我其實也忘了，我要不要跟人家說我再確認，這樣人家會不會覺得我很遜不配當老師」 這些是我的小小體悟，送給其他也想成為語言老師的讀者，我做得到我很開心，但跟所有職業一樣要去承受它的重量，我也沒有一個解答去說怎麼辦，不開心的話就做別的事就好了。 想學更多英語知識，就快追蹤： @rita.engig96 💼📖👠🏋️‍♀️ ⁡ #英文口說 #口說教學 #英文家教 #英文片語 #學英文 #重訓女孩 #健身女孩

- 2021.05.18 let’s talk about my “detox May” plan: the reason why i deleted instagram from my phone in the first place is because, i find it difficult to focus on being “present”. i feel impetuous easily (searched that vocab up on google, don’t know if that’s how you use it). i’m not conscious when doing what i was doing (like i’m doing something, but my mind was totally out there thinking about other things), if anyone can relate. i didn’t know WHAT i was doing, or even WHY i was doing what i was doing. all i did was live on, and let time pass by, day by day... which only exasperates my unhappiness. “lucy! you gotta to make a change.” i told myself one day (it was on the last day of april, no particularly why, it just happened to be on that day haha), which is why i decided to start by eliminating something that consumed A LOT of my “resting time”, instagram. // why come back to instagram now? during these days without instagram on my phone, i had more time to recap what had happened throughout the day, what i’ve done, how i’ve felt, why i was feeling what i was feeling... and so on. maybe it is these “reflection time” that enabled me to open up my senses throughout the day, more consciously. to see, to hear, and to feel. to notice the details in life that never occurred to me before. and i believe the beauty of life, is always hidden in these little things. i realize, how we feel and “take in” the world around us, has a huge impact on how we live (how we deal with our emotions, the things we do, the vibration we spread out, or even the things we say) when i start opening up my senses, i feel more “present”, more focused, and more content with life. i start feeling grateful for all the little things, to not take everyday for granted. maybe this is what “living with conscious” means, to feel and to sense. it is only when you realize to feel, is the color of living will you then realize how privileged we are to be able to “feel” // honestly, i don’t quite know how to express myself through words, but i hope someone understands what i’m trying to say here haha 🙈
