How to Get What you Pray For

“Where do wars and fightings among you come from? Don’t they come from your pleasures that war in your members? You lust, and don’t have. You murder and covet, and can’t obtain. You fight and make war. You don’t have, because you don’t ask. You ask, and don’t receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures. You adulterers and adulteresses, don’t you know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who lives in us yearns jealously”? But he gives more grace. Whatever you ask for in prayer that is according to God’s will, you will receive it if you believe.

Why do we disbelieve at times? It could be due to unfamiliarity with God’s word. His will is revealed in His written word.

Another reason is that we feel unworthy to receive good things from God because of some sin in our life. The shame and condemnation produces unbelief.

God knows our motives when we pray. If something is going to harm us, He as a good Father will not give it to us until it is safe.

Just because your two year old child fusses over wanting to play with a knife does not mean that you have to give it to him.

As an adult and responsible parent, you are wiser than him and know that it is not safe.

God is infinitely wiser than us. When we pray, we must also accept that sometimes our intentions may not be pure, and it will harm us if we get what we pray for.

Praise Him. God is good, and He is wise; a generous, gracious, merciful God! He is our beloved Abba Father!

美國的豆腐將軍

華盛頓郵報爆出美國最高將領、美軍參謀長聯席會議主席馬克·米利（Mark Milley）將軍，去年底秘密致電中國總参謀長李作成，向其保證美國不會攻擊中國的消息，相當駭人聽聞。

據報米利兩次向中共中央軍事委員會聯合參謀部參謀長李作成打電話。一次是總統大選前夕的10月30日，一次是今年國會暴力衝擊事件兩日後（1月8日）。

「華郵」記者根據兩百多位美國匿名官員的證詞還原：米利在第一次電話中說他和李作成仍然是朋友，他說：「李將軍，你我認識五年了。我向您保證，美國是穩定的，一切都會順利進行。」「我們不會對中國發動攻擊和採取任何軍事打擊行動。」「如果我們要進攻，我會提前打電話給你。這不會是一個意外行動。」

第二次通話，米利告知中國朋友「一切正常，民主制度有時候就是有點亂。」

米利在國家軍事指揮中心還召集了一個參謀部高級軍官會議，並表示，如果川普下令攻擊，首先應該第一個告知他。同時他還要求助手們承諾，若川普作出「極端命令」，包括動用核彈，不要立即服從。與此同時，米利還請求時任中央情報局局長夏思蓓（Gina Haspel）與有日裔血統的美國網絡司令部負責人中曾根（Paul Nakasone）密切監視總統川普行動。

報導指，有些官員覺得米利的做法越權，但米利深信他做的是應該做的，「為的是國際秩序不要出現歷史性斷裂，不要與中國發生事故性戰爭。不要動用核武器」。

至於國會山莊騷亂，小事一樁，也是美國內政，但米利向中方通報的姿態，如下屬向上級。有如香港特首向港澳辦匯報「香港有少數人鬧事，不過問題不大，我們有信心處理，請中央放心。」

到底美國軍方和政府內有幾多個米利？此種姿態，證明中國對美國的全天候心戰威懾，卓有成效。

若此等消息在去年爆發，即有Deep State 企圖政變，「拜粉」與左膠會指為「陰謀論」，現在卻由左翼的華盛頓郵報來爆料，證明川普下台前一連串異事：黑命貴暴動、國會山佔領、灌假票疑雲，因「米利事件」之曝光，疑點利益歸川普，去年之「大選」，確帶有政變性質。一方面是槍炮架空了民選的川普，另一方面是推特禁言於民選的川普。

美國的民主制度，不是像米利說的「有點亂」，而是呈現「中國化」的質變，米利類似一個美國版的榮祿袁世凱的綜合體，加上左膠的白蟻蛀蝕，此一制度出現結構性的腐爛。

若華盛頓郵報報道屬實，米利無疑犯了叛國罪。

美國的聯邦叛國罪在1790年援引憲法初立，1909年國會修訂，指明「任何效忠美國者，若對美國發動戰爭，或攀附於美國之敵國，在美國國內外向敵國提供協助或慰勉，即成立叛國罪（Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason.）

但米利的兩通電話，至少以香港版「國安法」的審案標準，審兩三小時即可判決罪名成立。

美中之間尚未進入戰爭狀態，所以不論拜登還是米利，都強調美中關係不是敵對，只視之為「競爭者」（competitor )；不論兒子收過中國錢還是將軍打電話向對家承諾「如果川普想開戰，我一定預先打電話通知你」，就是要避免墮入與「敵國」(enemy ) 勾結之責。

但何謂「敵國」？據美國法學專家華倫（Charles Warren ) 在耶魯法學院學報定義為：「只適用於公開對美國宣示敵意的外國勢力的人員，而不是國內反抗政府的騷亂份子」（applies only
to the subjects of a foreign power in a state of open hostility with
us. It does not embrace rebels in insurrection against their own government)，換言之，佔據國會山莊的美國人，犯了暴動罪，沒有犯叛國罪。中國在意識型態和戰略上都是對美國長期懷有「公然敵意」（hostility)的國家，則米利視自己的總統比中國有更大的威脅，其叛國迨無疑問。

因此米利的「慰勉」（comforting )加「幫忙」（aiding )的兩次電話，令美國人嘩然，中國應該心領神會，大可乾杯茅台。美國軍方對中國的軍事實力差距或容輕視，但美中一旦開戰，美國十分恐懼中國馬上就動用核武器。

美國核武儲存九千，中國雖只有數百，但一場中美決戰，中國只要令美國評估有「我將無我」的攬炒可能，美國就不敢動手，包括即使中國主動攻擊台灣。

Vụ tấn công này khiến **death toll** (tổng số người chết) do bạo động tại Gaza kể từ thứ 2 tuần trước đã lên tới 181 người, trong đó có 52 trẻ em. Và sau đó, nhằm mục đích **reprisal** (trả đũa), thì Hamas đã phóng 120 tên lửa vào lãnh thổ Israel, hầu hết trong số đó đã bị ngăn chặn. Tổng thư ký Liên Hợp Quốc Antonio Guterres đã lên tiếng rằng các vụ tấn công **indiscriminate** (bừa bãi), nhằm vào dân thường phải được chấm dứt, vì nó **infringe**(vi phạm) luật pháp quốc tế. Ngày thứ 6 14 tháng 5 vừa qua thì Tổng thống Mỹ Joe Biden đã bay tới Israel nhằm cố gắng hòa giải xung đột để đạt được **truce** (lệnh ngừng bắn) giữa 2 bên và **quell** (chấm dứt) bạo động. Tuy nhiên, thì những nỗ lực **mediation** (hòa giải) này gặp rất nhiều khó khăn vì Hoa Kỳ cùng các nước phương Tây sẽ không đàm phán với Hamas – do họ cho đây là một nhóm khủng bố. Vì vậy nên các hành động trả đũa giữa 2 phía chính phủ Israel và nhóm Hamas vẫn liên tục diễn ra và sự **upsurge** (sự gia tăng đột biến) về thương vong vẫn không có dấu hiệu dừng lại.
