不久前，我們跟 Quintessa Winery 的出口總監 Diego Garay 來了一場遠距離的視訊發表會，今年釋出的年份是「Quintessa 2018」，葡萄品種比例是 92% Cabernet Sauvignon、2% Merlot、3% Cabernet Franc、2% Carmenere、1% Petit Verdot；20個月橡木桶中熟成（62%新桶），品飲後讓我覺得「Quintessa 2018」確實是一個偉大的年份，至少在發表會現場獲得參與者一致性喜愛的評價，我個人甚至認為2018年份有堪比波爾多五大的水準。
Quintessa Winery 位於 Napa 的 Rutherford AVA，酒莊只釀一款以Cabernet Sauvignon為主體的紅酒，還有一款 Sauvignon Blanc 為主的白酒，真的還滿波爾多的一家 Napa 酒莊，他們酒莊有三種類型的土壤地塊：
Eastern Hills：white voleanic ash（白色火山灰）
Central Hills：deep gravel and cobbles（深層的礫石與鵝卵石）
Bench：clay loam, sand, and gravel（粘土、沙子和礫石）
而這些地塊酒莊都拿來種植CS，還有少量用於混調的波爾多品種。
品飲筆記：
氣候涼爽的2018年份，有較長的採收期，同時也讓葡萄有很適當的成熟度與風味。
當我品飲第一口「Quintessa 2018」時，我默默的寫下第一個評分（A），花香調、咖啡牛奶、涼性草本、黑醋栗、櫻桃、藍莓、煙草、煙薰&辛香料的風味中，仍讓我覺的有點沉悶感，雖然他有明顯的成熟漿果帶出的甜美感。
干型，酸度高，單寧高，酒精高，酒體厚實。
酸度高卻不讓人覺得尖銳，單寧厚實卻讓人覺得成熟與粉狀，入口後有十分強烈與微微的辛香料風味，很法國桶？一開始並沒有圓潤，或是香草、奶油類的調性，顯的剛硬與強烈，但風味多元，有較多深色漿果與微微的紅色水果風味，成熟果實的甜美感是很明顯的，尾韻有一些草本類的調性，開瓶即飲雖然有點沉悶感，但已經很可口；隨著醒酒時間的拉長，香草、堅果、芋泥調性的桶味會慢慢浮現，同時柔和的口感，與集中的果味讓人感到非常驚艷，最後我在筆記的末段把一開始的評分劃掉，改成了（A~A+）的評價。

Bedok Reservoir is around my hood and super love running at this area full of nature. It's convenient and accessible via Bedok Reservoir MRT on the downtown line. And running on the gravel is good for you as it ís softer than the ground. There are also many restaurants and cafes around the Bedok Reservoir area such as Wawawa Bistro, Mr Prata, Mcdonalds etc.
