🦠 🇦🇺 Lockdowns are now in force in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane -- Australia's three largest cities. More than 60% of the country's population must now stay at home. Victoria state is now in its 6th lockdown since the pandemic began, triggering anti-lockdown rallies in Melbourne. And today, Sydney and New South Wales reported 291 new cases of the virus -- the highest daily tally on record. Dr. Catherine Bennett, Chair of Epidemiology at Deakin University, tells me that the "slippery" Delta variant has been able to evade once proven pandemic protocols: "It just moves too quickly for that normal 'test-trace-isolate' approach to actually be effective." Slightly more than a week has passed since the last event. Here’s the full fight. My thoughts on the fight, I feel like it was close, could’ve went either way. I might even dare say that I won rounds 1 & 3 as I was mainly the aggressor, and control octagon/ring centre most of the time. That being said, I can most definitely see why I lost as well. I missed, a lot. So I suppose it depends on what the judges are looking for. Ultimately, it was a pretty fun experience fighting a team mate. Fair play to him on a well fought fight. Things I need to work on: • in cage/ring discipline, after my nose got busted, I completely stopped showing feints and working off my jabs. I wanted to get him back good and I ended up throwing lots of overhands/hooks and there were huge load ups in each punch, making it telegraphed and easy to evade. I also abandoned my game plan of going to the body and started to head hunt. • offensive/defensive jabs, fighting off the jab • BJJ/wrestling • cutting angles Thankfully, being 22 means that time is on my side and the sky’s the limit in terms of room for improvements and to evolve more. Never been knocked out or submitted, only losing 2 close decisions. I’ll have to work on keeping the judges out of the equation and fighting smarter in the future. Never a loss, only a lesson. We go again.
