緬甸軍方發動政變 (coup)，今日拘捕(detain)全國民主聯盟領袖翁山蘇姬 (Aung San Suu Kyi) 與多名高官，並宣佈全國進入緊急狀態 (state of emergency)，為期一年。

政變 (coup) 的數小時後，官媒緬甸廣播電視台無法正常播出，而且仰光 (Yangon) 行動網路數據 (cellular data)連線和部分電話也斷線 (blocked)，當地媒體《緬甸時報》報導，國防軍三軍總司令 (commander-in-chief) 敏昂來將是緊急狀態 (state of emergency) 期間是實質領導人 (de-facto leader)。
