    Enjoy Happiness Now

    “Not that I speak in respect to lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it. I know how to be humbled, and I know also how to abound. In everything and in all things I have learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need. I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.” (Philippians‬ ‭4:11-13‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

    Don’t postpone your happiness to the future.

    “When I am rich, I will be happy.” Really? King Solomon is by today’s standards a trillionaire and he was not happy. Read about it in the Book of Ecclesiastes. He indulged in every worldly comfort and pleasure possible, and yet he concluded that it was all vanity of vanities, grasping after the wind.

    Happiness is not about being rich or poor. It is about having Christ in you and with you.

    As a believer, you know God not as a distant person, but a good Father who loves you and is on your side. To the world who does not know Him, He is still the Judge who punishes the wicked. They do not have the kind of relationship that we enjoy with Him.

    Start enjoying your relationship with Abba God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit today. You can pray, and God will show you amazing truths, advice for the future, and help you with whatever you need.

    A life without God is an empty life, like always eating but never being able to satisfy that hunger.

    When you have Jesus as Lord, you have the Bread of Life, the living bread from Heaven to feed on. His words in the Scriptures, the Lord’s Supper, are true food that nourish you in many ways.

    Perhaps happiness is having an unlimited supply of this heavenly food, so that your spiritual hunger is satisfied!

    If you want to know God’s heart for you, you can study the 37 recorded miracles of Jesus Christ in “Messiah’s Miracles”. As we look at each of the miracles that were recorded in the four gospels, you will know Abba God better by seeing what Jesus does.     兒科急診的小故事

    「急性心肌炎的神秘面紗」

    今天早上兒科急診來了一位小女孩，主要的問題是發燒。

    但是看了一下妹妹的過去病史。

    哇！

    發現妹妹上次住院的診斷是：「急性猛暴型心肌炎」

    這可是一個讓兒科急診醫師膽顫心驚的疾病！

    「最近兩個月以來，其實都有類似病例出現的！」

    我詳細問了一下妹妹的上次發病的病史。

    妹妹說：在心肌炎住院的「前一天」，她只有注意到，她原先要走5分鐘的路程，她大概要花20分鐘才能走完。

    但心肌炎住院的「當天」，她就出現呼吸困難，四肢冰冷，急性胸痛，心臟刺痛、非常痛，但是沒有發燒。

    於是她先被送到附近的醫院就醫，後來抽血報告一出來，便轉來我們醫院。

    心電圖顯示心律不整，抽血一驗，Troponin I大於73！

    後續治療就是裝上葉克膜來救命了！

    還好經過長庚醫院優秀的兒童急重症團隊治療，妹妹順利出院。

    家長真的很感謝長庚醫院的照顧！

    「急性心肌炎」

    以下內容是我以前就提過的內容。

    急性心肌炎的原因，最常見是病毒感染造成，當然有些是免疫、毒素、藥物。

    急性心肌炎，乃心肌受病毒或細菌、毒素侵犯所引起之炎症。

    在嬰幼兒或新生兒期的發病多為急性，甚至為猛爆性發作而常致命。

    於較大孩童或青少年則發病較緩慢，甚至剛開始時無明顯症狀。

    心肌炎的症狀可能包括：發燒、心衰竭、呼吸喘、心跳及脈摶微弱，心跳過快，而且有奔馬律 (gallop rhythm) ，甚至休克。

    病毒感染併發的心肌炎對兒科急診醫師來說，真的是不容易診斷的疾病。

    它的表現常常變化多端，特別是一些沒有特異性的表現 。它跟感冒症狀或者是腸胃感染症狀類似。

    心肌一旦發炎，嚴重程度不一！

    有些人一開始感覺不會怎樣，但是常常過幾個小時後，就是臉色蒼白，四肢冰冷而死亡！

    現在醫學雖然進步，但是對這個變化莫測的疾病還是很難及時診斷。

    希望站在第一線的兒科急診醫師們在百忙之中，不忘多看病人一分鐘(是不是有some thing wrong？not doing well？)。

    多花一分鐘聽聽病人心跳(有沒有心跳過快？過慢？心率不整？distant heart sound或 gallop rhythm？)。

    如此或許可多救回一個小孩的生命!

    看似輕微的感冒或腸胃炎，是有可能演變成有致命性的心肌炎。
