It has been 6 months since I first put it on, but today I decided to part ways with my @whoop band. I’ve always been very interested in health related data, especially anything related to sleep as it is something that I’ve struggled with since starting my own business in 2009. In the 6 months, there isn’t a day or night where I didn’t wear my Whoop, and I completed my journal every single day The Whoop is an amazing tool, and I’d still highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning more about the impact that stress, training, sleep (aka life) has on the body’s ability to perform optimally. Like all devices, this should be seen as another tool which you can use to your advantage, but it probably shouldn’t govern your life. Whoop also has an amazing support team, who have been awesome at responding to my constant back and fourth emails trying to understand and interpret the data. So is it worth the investment? I’d say that I don’t think there’s a person out there who wouldn’t learn a thing or two by having one. The straw that broke the camels back for me was the discrepancies in sleep data and heart rate. I’d often clock in 0 hours of REM and Deep sleep, yet have a very high HRV and feel great the next day. Similarly, I’d have a registered heart rate which was over 50 BPM out from what it actually was. The daily strain is a really cool feature, but only really takes into account aerobic stress, so not hugely beneficial for those who don’t part take in endurance based activities. But at the end of the day, I never wanted to become overly reliant on any one tool. I’ve learnt a tonne, but the challenge now is to navigate life, taking the lessons learnt from the last 6 months, but by using my gut and intuition. I wanted to share with you MY lessons and findings from the last 6 months of tracking (SWIPE ➡️). Please note that these are the things that worked for me, and might not necessarily work for you. The only way for you to know, is to try it yourself!

Mommy and Kayhan are very proud today. Public School cancellation is a nightmare for 114.000 homeless New Yorker kids, as they rely on the schools for their meals, while our kids are soo happy to be at home. We have donated some ready-to-eat foods to the Public Libraries, so there will be some food for kids who rely on schools to eat their lunch. My son Kayhan is also aware of these discrepancies and happy that we as a family will continue to do actively help keep some food on these children’s plate. Our hearts are with those homeless children and we will continue to help them. Stay healthy and warm!
