With the intention to re-create the spatial feeling of old 50s-60s local style #café (冰室), Kong Yee seems to achieve similar result with Wah Sing (華星) and Kam Kee (金記): vibrant colour and postmodern, with cart seating. A bit strange when this cha don (#茶檔) is not located outdoors as the original was.🙈 The surreal affection made me slightly uncomfortable as I am too advertent about the intent, but it remained nice to sit down and enjoyed good milk tea and local food comfortably in the physical sense.😄 👉🏻 A bit pricy for the food, despite the use of fine seasoning, like imported pepper and mixed herbs in the borsch. The usage of adding fine seasoning to the same recipe, i.e. canned soup, did not improve the taste. In fact, this makes the dish too exotic and pungent to my taste.🙈 And I didn't like deep-fried siu mai and seasoned with roasted salt (#椒鹽燒賣) that further hardened the fish paste.
