Negotiating (2)- Distancing yourself from a situation
有啲時候想講一啲general beliefs而唔係自己一個咁諗, 從而令件事聽落較為客觀,你可以考慮將自己同個人意見嘅距離拉遠,用reporting verb嘅passive form同it呢個impersonal subject表達自己。
例如We agreed that the details would remain confidential.就可以變It was agreed that the details would remain confidential.又例如I assume that share prices will rise as a result of the operation.可以變
It is assumed that share prices will rise as a result of the operation.,呢啲都會由有一個特定嘅group/doer變成一個general belief。👍🏼

咁都會見到除咗”said”之外仲有好多唔同嘅reporting verb,例如頭先嘅agree同assume。咁依家再introduce 6個啦。

Sample sentence: It is asserted that the price cut will bring more benefits to the company under current economic situation.
2️⃣ Acknowledge

3️⃣ Reveal

Sample sentence: It has been revealed that the CEO was involved in criminal offence.
4️⃣ Stipulate
Meaning: to state exactly what must be done (規定)
Sample sentence: It is stipulated that all staff members cannot take away any documents when they resign.
5️⃣ Reckon
Meaning: to think or believe (相信)
Sample sentence: It is reckoned that the revenue will be doubled by the end of the financial year.
6️⃣ Decree
Meaning: to officially decide or order that something must happen (命令)
Sample sentence: It is decreed that all staff have to study an AI course in order to keep up with the latest technology.
