    《 養生資訊 》(?)

    話說從前在飛機,組員餐我多數訂水果餐或印度素餐 (好好食㗎~)。從香港出發的水果餐長期是冰鎮極硬密瓜和無味菠蘿。本身不太吃菠蘿,每次都剩下。

    某次做商務艙,後輩妹妹問,你不吃菠蘿的?可不可以給我。

    我說飛機菠蘿無味喎。

    她說沒關係呀,有養生(?)功效嘛,你不知道?我搖頭,想起媽媽說菠蘿濕熱喎。

    她說菲律賓前輩說,吃了菠蘿「下面」會好香好甜的。

    吓?!這是她們要把菠蘿出口的銷售技巧吧?菲律賓是菠蘿大國。

    然後另一個妹妹,立刻拿一塊菠蘿狂吃。

    旁邊的空少說,是呀,男人吃完會好甜的,你沒聽過?

    然後他們幾個開始爭那幾塊無味的菠蘿,一直爭一直爭。

    老總在旁邊喝止:夠啦!你哋依家好臭咩?!?! 😂😂😂

    電視劇的劇情會是,老總搶去吃光光。

    嗯,現實呢?她只冷冷說了句:食完幾小時內有效,第二天已無分別。搶乜?!( 飛長途機)

    ( 上兩星期訂台灣鳳梨,十幾個我分了給不同的人,終於分哂了Yeah )

    菠蘿鳳梨不一樣?
    夏天除了吃西瓜,也是吃菠蘿的日子,菠蘿在夏天當造,從中醫角度來看它有清暑解渴、消食止瀉的功效,酸酸甜甜的味道亦正好打救炎夏帶來的食慾不振症狀。這種頭頂有棵草、果皮帶釘的水果,不少人認為口語叫「菠蘿」,書面語或台灣叫法為「鳳梨」,原來菠蘿和鳳梨是不同品種的啊!鳳梨是菠蘿在不同地域、氣候種植而產生的另一個品種,從三方面可以看到它們的分別:
    葉子:菠蘿頭頂的葉子帶有鋸齒;鳳梨葉子邊緣光滑沒有鋸齒。
    表皮:菠蘿表皮呈黃色;鳳梨表皮黃中帶綠。
    刺根:俗稱「釘」,菠蘿的刺根比較深,需要切除才可食用;鳳梨刺根不明顯,去皮即可食用。
    雖然品種有別,但在中醫角度來看功效一樣,如果進食太多肉類和肥甘厚味食物,吃菠蘿有助消滯、助消化及利尿。有人誤會菠蘿「濕熱」,其實菠蘿性平,但個別人士會對菠蘿中的「菠蘿朊酶」敏感,吃後皮膚容易發紅、痕癢,稱之為「菠蘿病/鳳梨病」,建議食用前將果肉浸泡鹽水30分鐘,破壞「菠蘿朊酶」,減低引致敏感的可能。

    Difference between pineapple and Feng Li
    Besides watermelon, pineapples are also best enjoyed during summer. From Chinese medicine perspective, pineapples can clear summer heat and quench thirst, aid digestion and relieve diarrhea. Its sweet and sour tastes are also the remedy for appetite loss caused by the summer heat. Pineapples, which carry thick waxy leaves on top and spiky skin around the body, are sometimes recognised as “Bo Luo” in Mandarin/Cantonese, and also known as “Feng Li” in Taiwan or in writing. But as a matter of fact, “Feng Li and “Bo Luo (pineapple)” are two different varieties! “Feng Li” actually refers to a different variety that was cultivated in a different geographical area and climate. We should be able to differentiate them from three aspects:
    The leaves: leaves on top of the pineapple have spiky edges. The leaves on “Feng Li” have smooth edges.
    The skin: skin of pineapple appears to be yellow. The skin of “Feng Li” is yellow with a tint of green.
    The eyes: Also known as the nails, pineapple has more pronounced eyes (remnants of the flower parts) so they need to be removed before consuming; the eyes of “Feng Li” are not as prominent, thus the fruit can be eaten once the skin is removed.
    
    Despite different varieties, as far as Chinese medicine is concerned, both share the same medicinal properties. Eating pineapples will help relieve indigestion and promote diuresis. Some may have the misconception that pineapples cause damp heat in the body, but the truth is they are mild in nature. However, individuals who are sensitive to the bromelain in the pineapples might develop rash and itch on their skin, a condition known as the “pineapple allergy”. It is advised to soak the skinned pineapple fruit in saltwater for 30 minutes to eliminate bromelain. This will decrease the chance of an allergic reaction.

    雖然還是五月,但天氣熱得要命,當然大啖夏日水果的好時節!從中醫角度來看,每種水果都有其屬性,分為性寒、熱或平和。不同水果亦帶意想不到的功效,還是配合體質進食最緊要。

    屬性寒涼!
    ・山竹・
    山竹有「果后」之稱,在厚厚果殼下,藏著一瓣瓣甜美玻璃狀的果肉,此果屬性偏寒,具清熱瀉火、生津止渴、化痰止咳的功效。注意女士月經期間不宜進食。

    屬性平和!
    ・菠蘿・
    菠蘿濕熱,才會引起皮膚敏感?在中醫理論中,菠蘿其實屬性平,有消暑解渴及助消化之效,不會引致肚瀉,反具止瀉作用,所以菠蘿其實是非常適合夏天吃用的水果,在烈日當空下遊玩後,偶爾來一片冰菠蘿也不錯!由於菠蘿含有豐富的菠蘿蛋白酶,對這種蛋白酶過敏的人可能會出現皮膚痕癢或腹瀉,才會有濕熱的謬誤,不妨在進食前將菠蘿浸鹽水減低過敏的機會。

    屬性溫熱!
    ・芒果・
    芒果性熱,具健脾益胃,止嘔止暈、解渴生津及利尿功效,對於體質偏寒涼和手腳易冰冷的的人甚為有益。由於具有溫補滋潤的特性,本身屬濕熱體質的人不宜多吃,否則會容易上火, 注意糖尿病患者不宜食用。

    Nature of Summer Seasonal Fruits
    Its already quite hot even though it’s only may, so it’s great time for some summer seasonal fruits! From Chinese medicine perspective, every fruit has its nature which is either cold, hot or mild. Different fruits would also have their own healing effects so it is important to choose based on body constitution.

    Cold in nature
    Mangosteen
    Inside that thick shells, there’s a sweet and pretty glass-like meat. Mangosteen is cold in nature, can clear heat, promote fluid production and relieve thirst, relieve phlegm and cough. Note it is not suitable for ladies to have during menstruation.

    Mild in nature
    Pineapple
    Does pineapple cause skin allergy since its damp heat? From Chinese medicine perspective, pineapple is actually mild in nature, it can relieve summer heat and thirst and also aid digestion and relieve diarrhea. Pineapple actually is very suitable to have during the summer. Once you’ve enjoyed some outdoor fun in the heat, try to have a slice of ice pineapple occasionally! Pineapple contains a lot of bromelain and some people may be allergic leading to itchy skin or diarrhea, and that’s why some mistake this for damp heat. You can try to soak pineapple inn salt water first to reduce chance of allergic reaction.

    Hot in nature
    Mango
    Mango is hot in nature, can strengthen the spleen and nourish the stomach, relieve nausea and vomiting, promote fluid production to relieve thirst, and promote diuresis. For those with cold-natured bodies or prone to cold limbs, it is especially beneficial. Due to its gentle tonic and nourishing healing nature, those with damp heat body constitution should not have too much as it will increase fire in the body. Note that diabetic people should not have mangoes.
