#尛外電 佩佩豬超洗腦 美國小孩開始講英國腔 家長滿頭問號

當美國小孩開始操著一口正統英國腔，甚至用上國內沒那麼常見的英式單字時，美國家長這才發現：原來佩佩豬的影響力這麼大。

疫情期間，大家待在家裡看電視的機會變多了，當然也養出了不少電視孩童。由英國公司產製的佩佩豬卡通（Peppa Pig）風靡全球，影響力甚至已擴展到語言學習方面。

這些佩佩豬的忠實小觀眾，不僅發音開始帶上英國腔，還在日常對話中出現連美國家長都滿頭問號的英式語法。

有家長表示，他的孩子竟然講出Father Christmas（英國版的聖誕老人）而不是美國常用的單字Santa Claus。面對這突如其來的轉變，家長一開始還摸不著頭緒，想說這兩個字是在說同一個人嗎？

另一位家住加州的女子馬蒂雅（Matias Cavallin）在推特上說：「連假（Vacation）時，我5歲的孩子竟跟我說她好喜歡這次的假期（Holiday），我告訴她，在我們家只能講美語或西班牙語！」

類似的情況還有很多，第三位家長表示孩子要上廁所時，會用英式的盥洗室（water closet）取代美式的浴室（bathroom），讓她相當驚訝：「我想說她到底是去哪學回來的，難不成她上輩子是鐵達尼號的乘客？」

#吉娜單字教室 更新課程【postpone v. 延後；延期】，發音時注意，第一個音節的[t]音消去不發音。這個動詞後面如果還要接動詞，要用【動名詞】。

1. We had to postpone the picnic because of the rain. It's scheduled for next weekend.
因為下雨，我們野餐必須延期。預定下個週末舉行。

2. I'll have to postpone our meeting to next Tuesday. Something came up with my boss.
我必須將會議延後到下個星期二。我的老闆臨時有事。

3. A lot of weddings were postponed because of the coronavirus. Many people are waiting until next year to get married.
很多婚禮都因為冠狀病毒延後了。很多人要等到明年才結婚。

4. My sister had to postpone planning her vacation after she got a new job. She can't take too much time off right now.
我姐姐找到新工作之後必須延後安排渡假的事宜假。她現在不能有太多的休假時間。

大家好，課程每天晚上8:30更新。這一課要學習的單字是【coincidence 巧合】。要注意這個單字的發音，母音之間會有一個滑音，所以在[ko]和[ɪn]之間有一個[w]的滑音，不要太強化[w]的發音，而是幫助發音的時候是順暢的。影片有慢速和快速發音，可以多聆聽幾遍。

在路上跟熟人不期而遇，真巧，英文有一個短語 What a coincidence!

另外某件事情很巧的發生，可以用 "by coincidence"。

我出去購物逛逛，很巧，我看到我的表姊在同一家商店！我們聊了一下。

3. She ran into them on the street twice in the same day. It was sheer coincidence.
她同一天在街上遇到他們倆次。這真的是很巧的事情。

4. By coincidence, the neighbors went on vacation in the same city as us! We saw them on the street.
鄰居和我們很巧在同一個城市度假。我們在街上看到他們。
