Les faux-amis anglais-français
英法語中的「假朋友」

許多英文不錯的同學們會覺得法文不難，因為許多單字跟英文長得很類似，或根本就一模一樣嘛。確實如此，英法文有許多單字長相近似，不過，若因此而輕敵，可是很容易掉入「假朋友」的陷阱。

所謂 faux-amis(假朋友)，指的是「同型異義詞」，這些詞彙需要特別留意與背誦。若因為英文太好而拖累了法語的學習，那可是我們所不樂見的。以下整理常犯的錯誤：

1. habit
英法文皆有的habit一詞，在英文中是習慣的意思，在法文則是指服裝(l’habit)。法文的習慣，是l’habitude。按照慣例，是這麼說:
comme d’habitude。

2. tour
英文的tour指的是旅行，法文的la tour是指塔，而le tour是指一圈。因此le Tour de France是指環法自行車賽，而不是法國的旅行喔!

3. camera
英文的camera是指相機，而法文的la camera則為攝影機。法文的相機，是l’appareil photo。

4. chair
英文的chair是椅子，法文可截然不同，la chair是皮肉/果肉的意思。

5. tissue
英文的tissue指衛生紙，法文指布料。法文的衛生紙是le mouchoir en papier。

6. location
以上都還算牛刀小試，接下來location這個單字可說連學習法文有段時間的同學也會混淆，因為實在不容易起疑。看到location de voiture/d’appartement，就會自然想到是「汽車/公寓的位置」。然而，法文的la location，是指租賃。這個單字在旅行行程的安排中經常出現，千萬不要搞錯了。

7. preservative/préservatif
英文preservative指防腐劑，法文le préservatif則是指保險套。

8. inconvenient/ inconvénient
英文inconvenient，指不便利的，法文l’ inconvénient則指缺點、弊病。英法文不光意思不同，連詞性也不同。

9. pretend/ prétendre
英文pretend指假裝，法文prétendre指堅持意見、使滿意。兩者意思天差地別。法文的假裝是faire semblant de。

10. annoying/ennuyeux
英文的annoying指煩人的，法文的ennuyeux則是boring的意思。若要用法文表示這真煩人，可以說:c’est agaçant.
若要惡狠狠地趕走在身邊的蒼蠅，不妨這麼說 :arrête ta merde là, c’est débile et agaçant.

11. place
最後以一個看似簡單卻很複雜的單字作為結束，在英法文中，這個單字都有許多的意思，有些近似，有些則不太相同。非常煩人XDDD
這種煩人，很能夠總結「faux-amis」了。
