In 1977, at the official opening ceremony of Upper Pierce Reservoir, the then Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew gave a rousing speech, announcing the cleaning up of Singapore River and Kallang River.

He said, "It should be a way of life to keep the water clear, to keep every stream, every culvert, every rivulet free from unnecessary pollution. In ten years, let us have fishing in the Singapore River and fishing in the Kallang River. It can be done.

The day we achieve that [clean river], whoever has been in charge for the last ten years or for the next ten years, if I am still around, I will give each one of them – both the Minister, the Permanent Secretary and the head of department – a real solid gold medal, one troy ounce. I don’t care what the price of it will be… But if it isn’t done… If I am still around and in charge in 1986, I will find out where it went wrong and whoever, whichever group of people made it go wrong and failed… Well, I have got special pieces of lead – not for striking medals – I think I’ll add it to their water supply."

Singapore River is 3.2km long. Kallang River is 10km long.

There were pig farms, squatters, street hawkers, vegetable sellers, shipyards (for building tongkangs) beside Singapore River, causing all the pollution.

Tens of thousands of people. A river with decades of pollution.

A blind telephone operator worked in the law firm of Mrs Lee Kuan Yew, which was at Raffles Place. He took the bus to work every day and always knew when to get off the bus. For the river was so smelly that he could smell it, as the bus crossed the river.

Yet all it took was one man to say and believe "It can be done".

With that, everything else was set into motion.

For the sake of his country and the many generations after, Mr Lee Kuan Yew took an unprecedented first step and kickstarted unimaginable drastic changes.

地理圖資協作：你知道每年光臺灣就消費 10 億瓶瓶裝水嗎？民間團隊 CircuPlus為了減少瓶裝水造成的塑膠污染跟碳排，與環保署合作，整理飲水機的開放地理圖資，並邀請全臺企業、商圈共同加入，成為奉茶據點，民眾可以透過奉茶 App 新增站點，這樣一來，用自備杯找水喝就更容易，還可以累積點數換商品。另外像是地球公民基金會推出的農地違章工廠回報行動、以及公民科學計畫路殺社也都屬於地理圖資協作喔。

開放資料/開放政府：如這次疫情期間誕生的口罩地圖，是民間開發者透過政府提供的開放資料，快速做出能即時反應口罩供需數量的平台，讓每個人都能獲得公平資訊。另外像是使用教育部 CC 授權辭典的萌典（超好用）、還有成為 2020 總統盃黑客松卓越團隊，找出適合植樹公有地的「臺灣好植地」，也都屬於這類喔！

Here are some successful cases with digital innovation features:
*Crowdfunding:
For example, tens of thousands of people joined the fundraising of “Taiwan Can Help” advertisement to let the advertising appear on the New York Times. After the advertisement published, the community made the second creation of it is also a classic case of digital social innovation. Another example was the Hong Kong’s Causeway Bay Bookstore reopened in Taiwan, it got the support of nearly 6 million Taiwan dollars through crowdfunding as well.

我時不時會遇到一些客人，在寫筆記時吊兒郎當。

看著他很勤奮的做筆記時，我想到：

有些客人會問，為什麼我不提供八字報告？一來，方便他們，二來，他們不會漏寫。

我說，我不喜歡長時間坐在電腦前，製片已經很耗時了。我一個人工作，每個月見數十位客人，每個都要我寫報告，那大家排期不是要等我更久嗎？

👩🏻有人問超人：「為什麼穿的衣服都那麼緊？」

我專業的寫法，不一定是你看得懂的。你自己寫的，你一定會讀得懂。我也絕對會給客人足夠的時間做筆記。

From time to time, I would meet clients who do not put in effort in writing what I said.

When I saw this client taking notes diligently, I was reminded of these.

Some clients would question why I do not provide Bazi analysis reports. They think it would be more convenient for them and they would not miss out anything.

I do not like sitting down for long hours in front of the laptop and I am already doing that for my video production. I work alone for my consultation work and meet tens of clients in a month. If I write a report for every client, wouldn’t the waiting time for the other clients be longer?

The clients would then bargain, it is easier for them to revise with a report.

My professional writing might not be something that you can comprehend, but you will definitely understand what you write down. I will also give the client time to write the notes.

When you are looking for a Bazi practitioner, you will need first ask yourself, what do you value most in the practitioner?

If you have to choose between one, is the practitioner’s skill and honesty more important, or having a well-formatted written report?
