What’s better than having a glass of Rosé and some octopus to start the meal on a hot summer evening?
I got this giant cooked octopus leg at @hmartofficial. 🐙🤩 To enjoy, we kept the preparation simple. Just thinly sliced it then dip into soy sauce with wasabi on the side.
It’s a perfect appetizer to serve on a hot summer day. No need to turn the stove on. 😉
Then I poured a glass of @vinscolombo Cape Bleue Rosé to accompany the dish.
This rosé made with 67% Syrah and 33% Mourvèdre is definitely not shy both on the nose and palate. Wow…
Seductive notes of rose and violet petals exuding from the glass, followed by strawberry, melon and with a hint of pink peppercorn.
Juicy, vibrant with marked acidity, this rosé is so refreshing and enchanting. It goes super well with the octopus.
Grab a bottle and pair with your favorite seafood salad, ceviche, or shrimp cocktails. Enjoy the summer while it lasts. Cheers! 🍷🐙🍷

Anyone who’s spent time in a kitchen knows that they can get hot, especially if the stove and oven are on at the same time. What should you do if you can’t stand the heat? Get out of the kitchen, of course. Thus the phrase, 1⃣“If you can’t take/stand the heat, get out of the kitchen,” which means that if you can’t handle the pressure of a given situation, you should remove yourself from it. The phrase also implies that the person being addressed is too weak to handle the situation. Ex: We put in a lot of overtime here, so if you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen.
在廚房煮過菜的人都知道，廚房會熱，尤其是同時開火跟烤箱的時候。這時如果你熱到受不了怎麼辦？當然就是離開廚房。因此有If you can’t take/stand the heat, get out of the kitchen的說法，就是暗示，當你無法承受壓力時，就該抽離那個環境。也有暗示某人無法應付該情況的意思：We put in a lot of overtime here, so if you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen.（我們這裡加班很多，如果你無法應付，那就別來。）

Perhaps this is the origin of the proverb, 2⃣“Too many cooks spoil the broth,” which means that if too many people are involved in a task, the results won’t be good. Ex: We already have enough people on our project team—too many cooks spoil the broth.

【金牌救援／Stove League】
最近，成了南宮珉粉絲。
從《金科長》、《美女孔心》到《金牌救援》，天啊，他太迷人了，特別是《金牌救援》。
《美女孔心》裡面的南宮珉，雖然非常可愛，但劇情有點薄弱，屬於典型浪漫類偶像劇，這部戲應該是要捧女主角吧😅，光看到這個傻女生竟然站在路邊等人、順便給車撞，吼，人行道那麼寬闊，妳幹嘛一定要站在馬路邊？剛好讓車子可以順勢開過來撞妳，就覺得圈圈叉叉……不合理的細節實在太多，哈哈哈哈哈。
還是講《金牌救援》吧，怎麼會有這麼好看的韓劇，節奏緊湊，不斷翻轉，一看欲罷不能，就算不瞭解棒球的人，也會喜歡。
喜歡棒球的人，肯定會愛上《金牌救援》，劇情雖然跟布萊德彼特的《魔球》有些許材料的類似，內容截然不同，而是「球隊企業的人性與管理」。
有意思的是，本劇只出現兩三場棒球比賽畫面，真的哦，只出現短短兩三場，不要被海報騙了，也沒有什麼九局下半兩出局一堆安打全壘打那種東西，卻依然令人看了血液沸騰，因為真正的比賽────都在球場外面。
這部劇，更沒有以惡制惡，世界上沒那麼多半澤直樹和文森佐啦；也非什麼陽光勵志片，卻超級熱血好看。❤

本週🇺🇸美國大小事聊聊「 stove 爐子」有關的諺語
國外爐子跟台灣的不太一樣，是分成前2後2共4口爐子
這跟接下來要學的這三個諺語有大大～的關係呦！

The standard stove has four burners—two in the front and two in the back. When cooking, it’s common to put pots that need active attention on the front burners and pots that don’t need to be stirred on the back burners. 1⃣ So the phrase “(put/place sth.) on the back burner” means to give something less priority or attention, or postpone it. Ex: We had to put our travel plans on the back burner because of the pandemic.
標準的美式爐子有四個爐口，兩個在前兩個在後。烹煮食物時，我們通常會將需要心力照顧的鍋子放在前面，不用一直顧著的放後面。所以片語 put/place sth. on the back burner 延伸有「不優先考慮，延宕」的意思，如We had to put our travel plans on the back burner because of the pandemic.（疫情期間，我們不得不延後旅遊計畫。）
2⃣ In contrast, “(put/place sth.) on the front burner” means to give something more priority or attention. Ex: The deadline is approaching, so it’s time to put this project on the front burner.
put sth. on the front burner 就是相反的意思，指「優先考量」：The deadline is approaching, so it’s time to put this project on the front burner.（期限快到了，我們應該優先作這份計畫。）
3⃣ What if you “cook on the front burner”? That means you’re successful at something, or making rapid progress. Ex: Two promotions in two years—he’s really cooking on the front burner! 4⃣ The phrase “cook with gas” also has the same meaning. Ex: Great shot—now you’re cooking with gas!
如果我們說一個人 cook on the front burner，就是說他「做事得心應手、在某事上進展快速」，如：Two promotions in two years—he’s really cooking on the front burner!（兩年內升職兩次！他真的是作得不錯！）另外，片語cook with gas 也指同樣意思：Great shot—now you’re cooking with gas!（這球投得好，你真厲害！）
