【#好文重温】讓孩子「慢遊」與「留白」的德國教育

德國孩子六歲前不寫字、只塗鴉，三歲起自己吃飯、自己穿衣、自己拉拉鏈、自己抹桌子，甚至自己做決定，他們不會多「幫」孩子做，而是多「讓」孩子做，從小事起教出獨立、堅強的好孩子……

一場世紀停課，讓不少家長方寸大亂，既想放手讓孩子趁機唞一唞，卻又怕他們習慣性懶散及輸在停課線，在早前幾次的Webinar中，他們都紛紛留言問我，如何讓孩子在停課期間打發時間？我說，其實今次停課才讓孩子「見真章」，好讓家長看清自己孩子的抗逆(疫)力，以及其 Self-directed learning mode (自主學習動力)，正如保良局陳守仁小學楊永明校長說：「有時唔一定要做乜嘢，我哋習慣每一分秒都有啲嘢做，否則好似好嘥，呢個係Autopilot Mode。但e-learning 強調應該係自主學習、持續學習。」

可借香港教育與教養總是目標為本，只著重門面功夫和別人眼光，學校淪為爭客仔的商業機構，孩子淪為考名校的功課奴隸，卻完全忘了給孩子打好基礎才是最重要，例如抗壓能力、自理能力、社交接觸、品德教育、求知精神、思想獨立等，甚至不惜跳過了很多學習的樂趣，讓孩子最終失去自主學習的動力。「孩子每天的行程密密麻麻，不知怎麼停下來，不知怎麼打發時間，不知怎麼跟自己獨處。」早前與《#讓孩子揮灑才能的德國教育》作者何潔凝Zoom meeting時，她一語道破現代育兒的核心問題。

何潔凝曾於香港任中學老師，卻被香港僵化的教育制度磨滅熱誠，及後遠嫁德國並選擇由幼稚園教起，有感德國的幼兒教育理念和方法與香港的迥然不同，於是開始探索德國幼兒教育方針，是如何教出快樂、獨立、自信、堅強、好學、有解難力及責任感的好孩子，並寫成《讓孩子揮灑才能的德國教育》，「是我們要香港的孩子兼顧太多，才忘了最基本的。」

華人父母大部分都有「再苦也不能苦孩子」的想法，喜歡幫孩子準備好一切，不讓孩子自己動手做，慢慢養成孩子不知道什麼該做、什麼不該做，十歲只會打電動卻不會踩單車、綁鞋帶、做家務的「港孩」隨處可見。何潔凝指，德國教育重視也尊重最基本，所以德國孩子六歲前不寫字、只塗鴉，三歲起自己吃飯、自己穿衣、自己拉拉鏈、自己抹桌子，甚至自己做決定，他們不會多「幫」孩子做，而是多「讓」孩子做，從小事起教出獨立、堅強的好孩子。

何潔凝說，德國教育更重視孩子心理健康，既給孩子靜靜觀察、發白日夢、盡情玩樂的時間和空間，也讓孩子在「慢遊」與「留白」中健康成長，這與香港校園丕讓學生思考和消化的急促節奏恰恰相反，「老師不會填滿孩子的時間表，孩子大部分時間都要自己找節目，所以他們也習慣在百無聊賴中，自己找尋樂趣。孩子的好奇心，只有在放慢腳步時，才能釋放出來。」趁著停課這難能可貴的時光，家長們不妨撥亂反思，還原教養的基本步，給孩子陽光與雨露，並在風雨中歷練成為參天大樹。

• Provide grief counselling and support to bereaved children, teenagers, adults, and families.
• Provide crisis intervention, counselling, follow-up and debriefing calls, and referrals to community resources as needed.
• Research, organise, direct, and coordinate special grief and support services as assigned.
• Provide education and support to the community as available through presentations, training workshops, and outreach programmes.

𝐁. 𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:
• Bachelor’s Degree / Post Graduate Diploma / Master’s Degree in Counselling, Education, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of working experience in the following preferred areas: hospice & palliative care, funeral and bereavement care, grief and loss counselling, support groups, case management, life and death studies, or health education.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak in Mandarin and English. Basic conversational skills in Cantonese, Hakka, or Hokkien will occasionally be required.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Able to work on public holidays or weekends.
• Physical ability to perform job duties with occasionally exposure to the sun and heat.

• Curious, passionate, and care about death and bereavement support.
• Exhibit good judgment in dealing with grief and loss issues.

• Demonstrate understanding of the principles of grief and loss and the skills needed to assist the bereaved in the healing process.

The concept of this song stemmed from my yearning for true, genuine friends. Through the pandemic, I wasn’t able to see my friends physically, but I sure enjoyed “dancin’, laughin’, groovin’ on my own.” I wanted to embody that joy for my NPR Tiny Desk Contest entry! I wanted to challenge myself and decided to write a whole new arrangement to perform using my live looping station, the BOSS RC-300.
