    香港學生的千年英文錯誤：

    used to vs. be used to

    I used to work in Central, one of the CBDs in Hong Kong.我曾經在中環返工。

    I am used to working in Central. I dress in smart casual every day. I work in a glamourous office. 我已經很習慣在中環返工了。我每天穿smart casual。我在一個光鮮的office工作。

    used to 做一啲野，以前做，used係「二號動詞」，用simple past tense

    be used to唔一定係past tense，個be變咩tense都可以，used係形容詞，等於accustomed（習慣了）的意思。

    《關於新聞的英語》

    記住news唔計做可數動詞，唔可以講a happy news、a sad news，可以講a happy piece of news、a sad piece of news。當然我地平時講野如果講。It's a happy piece of news that + clause會好似太過formal怪怪地，所以就就咁話It's good that that + clause就可以.

    e.g. It's good news that she has finally pulled herself together after the breakup. 她在分手之後振作起來，太好了。

    蘋果日報停刊之後，有人這樣說: In the past, no news was good news. Now, no news is bad news.

    no news is good news. 沒有消息就是好消息，這是英文裡常用的idiom，用以慨嘆人生不如意事十常八九，沒有消息就是好消息了。

    如果問別人，有新聞嗎？可以問：Any news? 就可以。

    「校正回歸」英文怎麼說？

    疫情指揮中心的官方用語是「The CECC retroactively added 400 cases to the total number of COVID-19 cases calculated over the past week」。

    疫情指揮中心將４００例本土個案校正回歸至上週統計之個案總數。

    但是使用英文時必須考量語域（register）。例如跟朋友溝通時，用詞應不會如此正式。我個人可能會跟朋友說：「The CECC revised/adjusted/updated its COVID-19 case count today.」然後再更進一步地補充說明，使聽者了解整件事的來龍去脈。
