但係我認為呢首歌表達既係成長、生活、夢想、自由、真理

這首歌是《Twilight》（港譯《吸血新世紀》／台譯《暮光之城》）的插曲，由美國田園詩人及獨立民謠唱作人Samuel Beam的一人樂隊「Iron & Wine」創作，歌詞充滿政治象徵性。

歌詞的中英版本均有很多爭議，尤其《Twilight》粉絲意圖扭曲歌詞去配合愛情故事。在我來看，歌詞寫的是作者對於成長、生活、夢想、自由、真理等的迷思，從小時候熱熱切追求天真的夢想，到冷漠不公的世界把童真扼殺，長大後感到無力、失去自由，變得憤憤不平，只能眼睜睜看著世上所有骯髒的事情。 「Flightless bird」被指是孩提時未能實現的願望，「American Mouth」是美國人自由的宣言，象徵夢想，作者渴望理想的世界，而這個夢到底已經實現，或是一早已失去？這就如我們心底的疑問。

我們現在過的，是我們追求的生活嗎？是我們夢想的世界嗎？
基於這首歌較抽象，並非每個人的理解都一樣，網絡有很多版本，以下是我重新翻譯的中文版本，但不論怎翻，英文歌詞還是最能表達創作者原意，就好像英文無法翻譯唐詩宋詞的精髓。

Neil和Clyde來自南非這個衝浪文化盛行的國家，從小就在海洋文化的薰陶中長大。他們在不同時間分別來到台灣，發現台灣是個非常適合居住的地方，決定在這裡生活下去。
兩個喜愛衝浪的人因緣際會在台灣相識，一起衝浪、成立木製浪板品牌，還一起打造別具特色的B&B，並將其命名為「Big Rock Candy Mountain 冰糖山秘境」，靈感來自於一首同名英文歌曲。這裡也真的如歌詞所描繪，充滿蟲鳴鳥叫，倚山望海，一切回歸到最原始的大自然生活，這也是Neil和Clyde一直以來所追求與秉持的生活精神。
不料在去年事情有了重大的轉變，也考驗著他們堅持夢想的毅力⋯⋯
