《CATS 貓》音樂劇由傳奇人物安德烈洛伊韋伯(Andrew Lloyd Webber)改編自諾貝爾文學獎得主T.S.艾略特(T. S. Eloit)《老負鼠的貓經》，而〈Beautiful Ghosts 美麗的幽魂〉是流行天后泰勒絲聯手安德烈洛伊韋伯為音樂劇《貓》電影版特別譜寫的歌曲。

安德烈洛伊韋伯表示：「當我拿到劇本時，第一個想到的就是『我們必須為角色維多莉亞譜寫一首全新的專屬曲目』，而且這首歌曲必須要成為電影的核心。」因此〈Beautiful Ghosts〉是首以小貓Victoria的角度出發的歌曲，在電影中由飾演Victoria the White Cat的法蘭契絲卡海沃德(Francesca Hayward)演唱。（以上內容改寫自《CATS 貓》電影原聲帶說明）

〈Beautiful Ghosts〉在電影中是出現在經典名曲〈Memory〉之後，〈Memory〉敘述的是Grizabella想念過去曾經的輝煌，希望可以回到從前的日子，而〈Beautiful Ghosts〉則是Victoria在聽完Grizabella的感嘆後，發現自己甚至沒有過那些輝煌，至少Grizabella還有那些美好的回憶。

【電影後感】Cats

原來又是星期五12月20號才上畫，
我地今日中午就去左睇了~

用了Lloyds Club 1年6張免費Vue的戲飛quota去睇~
2D電影可以選VIP坐，
坐位是可以微微向後斜的~

其實很多年前已經在Edinburgh睇過Live的Musical,
今次主要是陪Y先生去看。
因為他超鐘意Andrew Lloyd Webber.

事前沒有特別留意電影的預告，
看時特別有驚喜因為當中有不少出名的明星和演員。

中段差點要睡著了，
因為沒有太高潮起伏位。

誰不知到結尾時，
居然被Judi Dench的一句對白突然擊中淚點，加上該段歌詞出現了第3次，
配合那句對白恍然明白歌詞想表達的意思。
然後眼淚開始不受控留下，覺得好慘好感動。

完場時，
有Taylor Swift唱的版本作片尾曲，
再聽一次居然是繼續因歌詞流淚。
原來是Taylor Swift 和Andrew Lloyd Webber 攜手合作專程為這次電影版而作的。

填詞是一個鍛煉文筆的好途徑。

眼淺的人不宜在夜半獨聽歌，尤其是Bob Dylan的歌。我研讀上世紀歐美流行曲的興衰，穿梭各支樂隊的詞和韻，終於明白到他怎會得到諾貝爾文學獎。《Blowin' in the wind》，是飄揚還是飄零？或許在翳焗的熱島裡，我們已忘了風怎樣吹，但只要有詩，自能喚起久違的畫面和感動。

20歲左右就作得出不朽的金曲，那壯闊的心靈不知Bob是怎樣成長的。聽他在1964年在紐約民歌節的演唱片段，很難相信那老邁滄桑的唱腔是屬於眼前的這一個人，更想像不到那賺人熱淚的《Mr. Tambourine Man》是這個小伙子寫的。你要聽嗎？我手癢，想親自把歌詞譯作唱得出的中文：

English cover of "Eine Kleine" by Japanese singer-songwriter Kenshi Yonezu. The title means "A little..." in German. I think the title was taken from Mozart's "Eine kleine Nachtmusic" ("A Little Serenade").

The lyrics were a bit cryptic in places, so hopefully I got the right idea :D The theme seems to be a girl* with low self confidence who finds someone to love, but is constantly worried that it won't last.

*Although the original artist is a male, he sings from a female's
perspective.
