【I think I’m good enough to get a promotion.】
連假後第一天工作日，來聊聊升遷小故事
升不上去到底哪裡出了錯？

你知道英文寫作的好壞
可能影響你的職涯甚至人生嗎？

去年有位中階主管來找我求救
他在公司的績效很不錯
工作態度積極、待人客氣和善
但申請了很多次升遷或外派
都屢屢碰壁
他說高階主管全是英語人士
懷疑自己的溝通是不是出了問題

我聽完馬上就跟他說：
可以借我看看你寫的 e-mail 嗎？
不看則已，一看差點昏去（台語）
申請升遷的那篇 e-mail 破綻百出
而且 1️⃣ 第一句就有很大的問題：
I think I’m good enough to get a promotion.

除了信件沒有適當的開頭之外
怎麼會用這麼直接的語氣「要求」升遷呢？
於是我開始跟他講解正式信件
寫作時的原則和概念
請他盡量使用：
This letter is to request a promotion from my current role of ______ to the open role of ______. 這樣的句型和語氣

2️⃣ 第二個比較大的問題
是他雖然有良好的績效和表現
卻沒有具體、量化地描述出來
只寫了：
My excellent performance has increased sales since 2018.

於是我建議他改成：
During the past three years, I have boosted product sales by 12%, trained 15 junior employees, and saved departmental cost by 10%.
用「平行結構」(parallelism) 的方式
把自己成就的細節一一描述出來

3️⃣ 最後，他的信件用 Best 來結尾
稍嫌不夠正式
我建議他改成 Sincerely
向他講解完所有信件細節後
我請他下一封 promotion request 就這樣寫
然後祝他好運

就在上週
我收到了他的感謝信
說成功拿到了外派美國的高階職位
負責面試的主管還跟他說
他的 e-mail 寫得很不錯
這讓我覺得非常開心

果然不好的寫作就像一塊 #絆腳石
好的寫作卻像一塊 #敲門磚

加上味醂和醬油, 加在家中煮的拉麵, 非常有日本風味 Add mirin n soy sauce into ramen cooked at home, it has a very Japanese flavor

而且非常低的卡路里, 一次過食四五粒都不覺高膽固醇 It's very low in calories. U doon't feel high cholesterol even after eating 4-5pieces at a time.

築地為東京廚房、大阪有黑門市場、札幌就有二條市場做代表 Tsukiji is Tokyo Kitchen, Kuromon Market in Osaka, and Nijo Market in Sapporo

札幌廚房起源於明治初期, 起初只是一排排的魚檔, The Sapporo kitchen originated in the early Meiji period.At first it was just rows of fish stalls.

說回二條市場, 有大約15間水產公司和魚店，販賣當日入貨最新鮮的海鮮。 Speaking of Nijo Market, there are about 15 aquatic companies and fish shops that sell the freshest seafood that day.

除了鮮魚之外，亦有好多店舖販賣乾貨和海產加工品。In addition to fresh fish, there are also many shops selling dry goods and processed seafood.

有好多店舖提供寄送服務, 當然是要附加費用啦。 There are many shops offering delivery services, of course at an additional cost

北海道有三大名蟹, 就是帝皇蟹、松葉蟹，以及毛蟹。There are 3 famous crabs in Hokkaido, namely emperor crab, Matsuba crab and hairy crab.

第一必買, 大關甘酒, 甘酒是一種米做的飲品,看起來有點白白濁濁的, 間中會見到小米粒,其實甘酒是製造清酒剩下的酒粕, 現在日本相當流行用酒粕製造面膜,遲些我講妝藥的時候會詳細介紹,甘酒營養豐富， 含有維他命b群、氨基酸、葡萄糖、酵素等，大關甘酒更加上生薑和蜂蜜,更清爽潤喉, 除了恢復體力, 有美白功效,酒精成分很低, 男女合用, 冷熱飲都可以,快點和你老公合巹交杯吧, 飽暖思床褥! 第二必買, 京都背脂醬油味淒麵, 採用豬背骨上的油脂和醬油高湯配搭, 清淡的醬油風味配以濃郁的豬背骨油脂,融合出出奇的清甜味, 裏面有三包配料,是豬肉、筍乾和乾蔥還有醬汁, 配料十足,麵條要焗五分鐘, 相當有嚼勁, 非一般的即食麵組合,第三必買, Showa系列醬油薑味炸雞粉,這個炸雞粉本身已經調了醬油和薑味,所以大家可以慳番醃肉這個步驟,最厲害是什麼呢?就是不需要用油炸,而是放入微波爐就食得, 當然用氣炸鍋也可以。所以買包肉回來, 洗乾淨, 抹乾水, 醃上炸雞粉, 放入雪櫃20分鐘, 就可以放入微波爐幾分鐘, 叮!食得!牡丹樓和kfc兩件炸雞已經40元

第四必買, 昭和天婦羅粉, 大家都知道去日本餐廳食天婦羅唔平㗎啦,
自己在家製作, 可以買肉類、asparagus、 eggplant、蝦、香菇等,
我聽有些男孩好鍾意在家煎心形牛扒去冧女孩, 如果男朋友煮天婦羅給你吃, 又是另一番驚喜啦, 第五必買, 醬油味燉拉麵, 裏面有一套面調和調味醬, 麵條煮完後比較硬身, 襟咀嚼, 調味包才是最厲害, 有豬肉、豬骨的精華湯底, 亦有魷魚、扇貝、生蠔等海鮮的提取物, 鮮甜到不得知了, 再加大量蔬菜一起煮, 食到很滋味, 擔保你把碗底也瀨乾淨, 第六必買, 同一個牌子的燉拉麵, 不同的是調味包, 這款湯底是用了石川縣著名當地美食的鳥取蔬菜味, 味道比較清新.第七必買, Snow Royal北海道雪印發酵牛油, 發酵牛油具有豐富的風味和香氣, 用來煮食或焗麵包最適合, 發酵牛油比較健康, 因為在發酵過程中, 乳酸菌會食乳脂中的乳糖Lactose, 乳糖較一般牛油為低, 如果對乳糖敏感人士為首選牛油, 第八必買, 十穀長壽米, 多吃十穀米, 可預防血管硬化、腦中風、痛風, 心肌梗塞、癌症等疾病, 有科學研究報告指出, 十穀米含豐富礦物質、維他命、微量元素、酵素、抗氧化物、纖維素等, 都對人體有益。
