Madden NFL เป็นอีกหนึ่งแฟรนไชส์ยักษ์ใหญ่ของ EA ที่ขายดีมาก ๆ ในสหรัฐฯ แม้กีฬาประเภทนี้จะห่างไกลจะคนไทยมาก ๆ แต่ Madden NFL นี่แหละ เป็นหนึ่งในตัวช่วยที่ทำให้เราและผู้คนทั่วโลกสามารถรู้จักกับกีฬาประเภทนี้ได้เพียงจับจอยเท่านั้น
ด้วยระบบการเล่น และกฏกติกาทำให้ Madden NFL เป็นเกมที่มีวิธีการเล่นซับซ้อนกว่า FIFA อยู่ไม่น้อย ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการแบ่งทีมออกเป็น ทีมรับ/ทีมรุก, การทำแต้ม, เทคนิคการทำแต้ม, การวางแผนในแต่ละเพลย์ ไปจนถึงการแบ่งเวลาออกเป็น 4 ช่วงใหญ่ ๆ
ส่วนตัวแล้วผมอาจไม่ได้เกาะติดแฟรนไชส์เกมนี้อย่างจริงจังเท่าไหร่นัก แต่ก็ปฏิเสธไม่ได้เลยว่า Madden NFL เป็นเกมที่ หากเข้าใจกติกาและเริ่มเล่นเป็นแล้วล่ะก็ มันส์ สนุก จนวางจอยไม่ลงกันเลยทีเดียว แต่ดูเหมือนว่า Madden NFL 21 จะได้กระแสตอบรับที่ไม่ดีเท่าไหร่นักทำให้ EA Sports และทางผู้พัฒนา EA Tiburon เร่งพัฒนาตัวเกมให้ดียิ่งขึ้น และทยอยอัปเดตการพัฒนาเกมต่าง ๆ ให้แฟนเกมได้อุ่นใจอยู่เป็นระยะ
โดยในตัวเกมภาคใหม่ "Madden NFL 22" จะใช้ NFL’s Next-Gen stats อย่างเต็มที่กว่าเดิม ผู้เล่นจะมีความสมจริงมากขึ้น ด้วยข้อมูลเพิ่มเติมอย่าง เส้นทางวิ่งและความเร็วของผู้เล่น นั่นหมายความว่าผู้เล่นในเกมจะเคลื่อนไหวเหมือนผู้เล่นในชีวิตจริงมากขึ้น!
มีการปรับให้ผู้เล่นทีมรับสามารถรับรู้ถึงสถานการณ์ดียิ่งขึ้น เช่น Sideline Toe-Drags (การรับลูกในบริเวณเส้นขอบสนาม), Jump-balls against defenders (กระโดดป้องกันการพาสลูกจากฝ่ายตรงข้าม) ในขณะเดียวกันกองหลังจะได้รับการควบคุมมากขึ้น
ระบบ Star-Driven A.I แบบใหม่ของ Madden NFL 22 จะทำให้ผู้เล่นมีพฤติกรรมเหมือนกับผู้เล่นในชีวิตจริงมากขึ้น แต่ละคนจะตัดสินใจที่แตกต่างกัน ทีมรับจะตัดสินใจเหมือนผู้เล่นในชีวิตจริงที่อยู่ภายใต้แรงกดดัน นั่นหมายความว่าการเผขิญหน้ากับการรุกแบบส่งลูก จะรู้สึกแตกต่างกับเกมที่อาศัยการวิ่งเป็นหลัก
Madden NFL 22 จะมีโหมดมากมายให้เลือกเล่นไม่ว่าจะเป็น
The Yard ที่ไม่ว่าเล่นคนเดียวหรือ co-op คุณจะได้รับ challenge ที่ต้องทำให้สำเร็จ โดยอCampaign ของโหมดนี้ จะถูกแบ่งเป็น 4 บท ด้วยสนามและโหมดที่แตกต่างกันไป แต่ละสนามจะมีกฏในแบบของตัวเอง
United We Rise คือโหมดที่จะพาไปเริ่มตั้งแต่ต้นจนเข้าไปสู่ผู้เล่นระดับ NFL โดยในภาคนี้จะสามารถเลือกตำแหน่งที่อยากเล่นได้ไม่ว่าจะเป็น Quarterback, Wide Receiver, Halfback หรือ Linebacker
การตัดสินใจในสถานการณ์ต่าง ๆ ของโหมดนี้จะเป็นตัวกำหนดเส้นทางการเป็นนักฟุตบอลให้กับตัวละครของคุณ
และสุดท้ายนี้ Face of The Franchise หรือโหมดเนื้อเรื่อง ที่จะพาคุณไปนำทีม ผ่านทุกสภาวะการแข่งขันสุดกดดัน หรือทำคะแนนไล่ตามทีมคู่แข่งให้ทัน
