    坊間兒童保健食品林林總總,魚油及魚肝油產品更是常見。不少父母都覺得多吃無妨,因為這些產品標榜可以增強小兒抵抗力,又可吸收更多營養。中醫角度卻認為小朋友不宜過早進補,因為中醫理論認為小兒:「臟腑嬌嫩,形氣未充」,小朋友的五臟六腑尚未發展成熟,過多的營養和補品身體都未能吸收,所以主張從小飲食清淡,養好脾胃。
    3歲以下的小孩乃「純陽之體」,意思是小朋友正值生長旺盛期,除非先天性稟賦虧虛,就可按醫師建議作調補,否則小朋友飲食均衡已經足夠,過早進補只怕弄巧反拙,干擾體內的陰陽平衡,例如魚肝油和魚油的功效為促進眼睛、心血管等健康,不妨讓小朋友適量進食具補益肝腎、養血明目功效的豬肝、雞肝、枸杞葉、藍莓及小型魚類等,而核桃、葵花子、松子仁、榛子等果仁則可增強腦部機能。
