\ 缺水沒水喝，不會喝牛奶啊？嗯？ /

說起漫畫家荒川弘，你第一個會想起的，是她哪一部作品呢？是以煉金、魔法、冒險為主軸的《鋼之鍊金術師》？還是由他人原作，並由他操刀漫畫化的《獸神演武》或《亞爾斯蘭戰記》？對於我來說，我心目中荒川弘的神作，就是以北海道農家日常為藍本的《百姓貴族》與農牧高校為舞台的《銀之匙》，而《百姓貴族》到今年為止，連載已經十五年週年，累積銷量也朝三百萬冊邁進。

荒川弘出身於北海島十勝酪農之家，從小到大的農家生活以及高校時代就讀農業高校的經歷成為豐富她作品的珍貴養分。以自家故事出發的《百姓貴族》從二〇〇六年起開始連載，堪稱日本第一部農家紀錄漫畫。在這部作品中，荒川弘把荒川家的農業日常詳實描繪，搜羅農家常識、北海道農業歷史沿革、市場概況等你我不知的資訊，再配上充滿戲劇張力與爆笑轉折的劇情，建構出本作最迷人風格。

在《百姓貴族》中，所有荒川家角色都以牛來呈現，因此荒川弘也被不少漫畫讀者暱稱為「牛媽」。在這部作品中，農家常識對讀者帶來莫大的衝擊，當中安插了「石井編輯」一角，用來象徵讀者視角來對農家提問、吐槽。平常大家習慣喝牛奶吃肉吃作物，但卻不甚了解的農家日常在作品中俯拾即是，書裡一句「農家的常識並非是社會的常識」一語貫穿所有劇情。那句「沒水喝不會喝牛奶啊！」就反映出在物產豐饒的北海道，衣食無虞的務農百姓簡直就像貴族一般，作品的名稱「百姓貴族」就此誕生。

家裡的蔬果都是左鄰右舍以物易物得來，從來沒有花錢買過；塞滿了高級牛肉的冰箱是常態；放學回家打開門居然有獵人送上一整頭鹿放門口，以及各種以新鮮牛奶幻化成諸如布丁、牛奶飯等神奇美食，還有各種季節轉換所帶來的務農生活風景以及危機處處的驚險細節，都是身處都會的你我驚訝連連的閱讀初體驗。

《百姓貴族》不是套上夢幻濾鏡的熱血職業故事，而是踏踏實實地將農牧生活的艱辛、現實、歡樂一一攤開來分享的農家紀錄片。我特別喜歡當中「爸爸」的角色，他徹底貫徹「不工作就沒飯吃」的家訓。身為一家之主的荒川爸爸張力十足，除了有異於常人的生活模式讓人瞠目結舌外，漫畫中提及多次生死交關的體驗，無論是飛車渡河的荒謬，或是卡車翻覆後的病危手術，在這種時刻荒川家都有牛隻死掉為其「擋煞」的替身效應，在漫畫中亦令人嘖嘖稱奇。

多年前曾隻身前往北海道農家打工換宿一陣子的我，雖然工作內容與型態與《百姓貴族》幾乎完全不同，但哪怕只有 1 % 的相似心情，也讓我在這部作品中找到可貴的熟悉感，讓我對本作愛不釋手。

《百姓貴族》連載十五年了，為了歡慶十五週年，今年秋天荒川弘將在東京渋谷西武百貨舉辦原畫展，現場預計展出多幀原畫，還會有特製的商品販售。雖然無法前往躬逢其盛（可惡的武漢肺炎！）但我還是持續期待《百姓貴族》能長長久久繼續下去，因為關於荒川家的農業故事，我還想知道更多更多。
