法國坎城影展市場展（ Marché du Film - Festival de Cannes ）於台灣時間2021年7月13日午夜於沉浸式虛擬場館MOR ( Museum of Other Reality)舉辦頒獎典禮並揭曉得獎名單，臺師大特聘教授、新媒體藝術家黃心健VR以最新力作《輪迴》上集(Samsara Ep.1)自16部精采的入圍作品中脫穎而出，一舉奪下本屆最佳VR敘事大獎( Best VR Story)殊榮。

《輪迴》上集是首部獲頒此重要獎項的台灣原生VR作品，台灣驚人的VR創作實力再度揚名國際！

黃心健在頒獎典禮上致詞：「首先，感謝坎城評審團的肯定與鼓勵，很榮幸能夠得到最佳VR敘事大獎。也感謝 國立臺灣師範大學 National Taiwan Normal University 、 文化內容策進院 Taiwan Creative Content Agency 與VR 體感劇院 VR FILM LAB 的全力支援，才能讓《輪迴》得以順利地製作完成。由衷感謝所有參與製作《輪迴》的幕前、幕後製作人員，一起讓來自於台灣精彩VR作品，再次讓世界看見。」

《輪迴》的劇情牽動著生態、科技、資源分配與戰爭等多元議題，是一段人類自核毀滅後逃離地球的故事。殘存的人類嘗試在無垠的星際中，尋找下一個可以賴以生存的新星球，並以人工方式進化成一種新的生命體。但許多年過去了，人們漸漸發現其實自己永遠到不了夢想中的全新星球，他們只不過是在另一個時代，以不同的生命形式，一遍遍地返回地球。黃心健藉此反思深刻反思生命哲理，並應用了所謂「具身認知」的抽象概念，以此讓觀眾轉換到不同的肉體中，進而以全新的視角來體驗《輪迴》上集片中的世界觀。

作為全球最受矚目的影展項目之一，法國坎城影展市場展為一向是全球影人不容錯過的影壇趨勢指標。而今年度為減緩疫情衝擊，Cannes XR 單元與 VR 線上內容平台 VeeR 攜手合作，特別在虛擬場館 MOR中打造大型的影展會場。活動展間的呈現方式非常活潑豐富，坎城團隊打破了現實世界中音訊、材料與硬體限制，以超現實的效果來為全世界的觀眾提供最為華麗的展場體驗，從觀影、走紅毯、入座到致詞，與會者皆透過VR頭顯連線參與頒獎典禮，黃心健尤其驚豔於主辦單位為他打造的專區。以創新的虛擬形式舉辦典禮，也正契合了VR作為影界新猷的開創性。

《輪迴》上集繼三月榮獲美國西南偏南影展（ #SXSW）「虛擬劇場」項目最大獎殊榮「評審團獎」後，再度斬獲國際影展肯定，再次證明了台灣深厚的VR創作實力！完整版《輪迴》預計將於今年九月起展開全球影系列巡演，並將在今年10月回到台灣高雄，作為亞洲首映展出。欲一睹風采的台灣的影迷敬請期待！

🎉Taiwan's VR artist Hsin-Chien Huang Wins the Best VR Story Awards of Cannes XR‼️

The awards ceremony of Le Marché du Film will be held at midnight of July 13, 2021, at the Museum of Other Reality. The latest VR production by Distinguished Professor of NTNU, artist Hsin-Chien Huang, has been riding high among the other 16 nominated productions and bring home the prestigious "Best VR Story" award. " #Samsara Ep. 1" is the first native VR production from Taiwan to receive such honor and has once again put Taiwan on the map!
In the acceptance speech, Huang first mentioned that he would like to thank the jury for the recognition and encouragement. It was a great honor for him personally to win this award. He'd also like to thank the full support from NTNU, Taiwan Creative Content Agency and the VR FILM LAB of Kaohsiung Film Archive for making the production happen. Finally, he thanked all the crew members for showing the world how amazing the VR production from Taiwan.
The plot involves many different social issues, including ecology, technology, natural resource, and war. It's about a journey for humans after destroying the Earth with nukes. The survivors seek a new planet to carry on their lives in the limitless interstellar space, gradually evolve into a new life form artificially. Yet, after so many years, they have come to realize that they would never make it to the new planet that they have been dreaming of. They have been simply returning to the Earth in different life forms time after time. Huang uses the story to reflect on the philosophy of life and applies the concept of "embodied cognition" to teleport audiences to different bodies and experience the worldview of "Samsara" via a new perspective.
As one of the most famous film festivals globally, the Cannes Film Festival has always been a trial balloon for filmmakers around the globe. This year, to lower the impact of the pandemic, the Cannes XR has built a unique venue in the MOR (Museum of Ohter Reality) with VeeR VR , an online platform for virtual content, offering various exhibitions during the event. The team has broken down the barriers across materials, audio, and hardware, in reality, using surreal effects to provide the most magnificent viewing experience. From screening, walking on the red carpet, being seated to giving speeches, all the details are not left out through the VR headsets. Huang is especially impressed by the special area built for him by the host team. The ceremony is presented virtually innovatively, resonating with the groundbreaking feature in the VR film industry.
After winning the top award of the SXSW, "Jury Awards", "Samsara" has yet again captured the attention of another international film festival, testifying the profound and vibrant creativity of VR from Taiwan. The full version of "Samsara: will start its tour in September this year and come back to host its Asian premiere in Kaohsiung in October.

【本校防疫訊息〜中央流行疫情指揮中心近日陸續公布本土案例之因應措施】
NTU COVID-19 Prevention Message—Protective Measures in Response to CECC’s Recent Consecutive Updates on Confirmed Local Cases

近日中央流行疫情指揮中心陸續公布了本土COVID-19陽性案例及其相關活動史，5月2日所公布案例的活動地點已擴及到台北市及新北市，請大家務必提高警覺，並做好個人防疫措施，以維護校園安全。

.
因疫情一直在更新，請大家密切注意中央流行疫情指揮中心的最新消息，自即日起，本校獲知新的公共場所活動史訊息後，也將立即發布動態訊息於本校的FB及官網首頁。

.
具有個案活動地點接觸史的教職員工生，請主動通報所屬單位防疫聯絡人，如果沒有症狀，可以正常到校上班上課，但外出應全程配戴醫用口罩(包括進入校園、進入學校館舍、共用之辦公室内)，進行自我健康監測。如果出現發燒、上呼吸道、腹瀉、嗅味覺異常等症狀，亦請通報所屬單位防疫聯絡人，同時應配戴醫用口罩，盡速至就近社區採檢院所就醫，不得搭乘大眾運輸工具。

若被衛生主管機關列為自主健康管理者(包括曾出入桃園華航諾富特飯店者)，請勿到校上班上課，並依中央疫情指揮中心相關規定辦理。

為維護師生健康，學校將強化以下防疫措施：
1.立即加強各公共空間的消毒作業。
2.請各館舍透過門禁管制、安排管控人員等方式，加強落實館舍進出實名制。
3.上課及會議期間請確實配戴口罩。

再次提醒，疫情期間請大家出門儘量配戴口罩、勤洗手、與他人保持社交距離，並自我注意是否出現發燒、 呼吸道症狀、腹瀉、嗅味覺異常等疑似症狀。如出現疑似症狀，應確實佩戴醫用口罩，儘速至附近社區採檢醫院就醫，且不得搭乘大眾交通運輸工具；就醫時，應主動告知接觸史、旅遊史、職業暴露及身邊是否出現其他人有類似症狀；返家後亦應佩戴醫用口罩，避免外出。

The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) over the past couple of days has released a series of updates on the travel history of confirmed local COVID-19 cases. In the May 2 announcement, the areas visited by the confirmed cases have expanded to include Taipei City and New Taipei City. The University is asking all of you to stay on high alert and carry out personal pandemic-prevention measures to safeguard campus health.

While this COVID situation is constantly being updated, please pay close attention to the latest announcements by CECC. From now on, the University will post the latest updates on its Facebook fan page and the University’s home page as soon as they are released.

.
For students and colleagues who are among the contacts of the confirmed cases in the listed locations, please voluntarily notify the pandemic prevention contact person(s) at your affiliated department or office. Those who fit the above description but do not have any symptoms may still attend or teach classes as usual. Please be advised to wear a medical mask at all times when in public places (e.g. the NTU campus, premises, or shared office spaces). Please also carry out self-health monitoring until specified dates. If suspected symptoms develop such as fever, respiratory complications, diarrhea, and abnormality of smell and taste, please contact the pandemic contact person(s) at your affiliated department or office, wear a medical mask at all times, immediately seek medical attention at a nearby hospital for COVID-19 testing, and avoid taking public transportation.

If you are among those (including people at the Novotel Taipei Taoyuan International Airport on the listed dates) requested by public health competent authorities to carry out self-health management, please refrain from entering the University for classes or work and follow the instructions stipulated by the CECC.

The University is stepping up the following preventive measures to protect the health of students and faculty.
1. Immediately strengthen disinfection of public spaces;
2. Implement access control, appoint entry control personnel, and tighten the real-name entry system on all of university premises; and
3. Enforce mask-wearing during classes and meetings.

As the COVID-19 is still raging, please again be reminded to always wear a mask when you go out, wash hands frequently, and keep appropriate social distancing. Be on alert for suspected symptoms: fever, respiratory complications, diarrhea, and abnormality of smell and taste. If they appear, please wear a medical mask, immediately seek medical attention at a nearby hospital for COVID-19 testing, and refrain from using any public transportation. When in the hospital for treatment, please voluntarily tell the physician your contact and travel history, potential occupational exposure to the virus, as well as people around you with similar symptoms. When you return home, please also wear a medical mask and avoid going out if not necessary.

NTU COVID-19 Prevention Message—CECC Confirms Three New Indigenous Cases – May 1 #Update

全校教職員工生大家好：

因應中央流行疫情指揮中心公布某防疫旅館員工檢出COVID-19陽性及相關案例活動史，提醒各位教職員工生須留意是否曾於所公布的時間地點有所活動。

.
(1) #4月15日後曾進出諾富特華航桃園機場飯店的教職員工生，#皆應自主健康管理14天，#並請立即通報防疫聯絡人及保健中心。#自主健康管理期間，#不要進入校內館舍及教室，#也不要參與校內外活動。

.
(2) 與案1120、案1127、案1128 及 #案1129 公共場所活動史有接觸的教職員工生，如果出現症狀，即不應到校上班上課，應立即就醫採檢，並請立即通報防疫聯絡人及保健中心。

.
(3) 具上述接觸史的教職員工生，如果沒有症狀，可以正常到校上班上課，但外出應全程配戴醫用口罩(包括進入校園、進入學校館舍、共用之辦公室内)，進行自我健康監測至 5/9（案1120 接觸者）、5/10（#案1129接觸者）或 5/12 （案1127、案1128 接觸者）。

In response to this, the University is asking all of its students and colleagues to check if they have ever participated in activities at the listed locations and times.

(1) Those who have been to Novotel Taipei Taoyuan International Airport after April 15 should carry out self-health management for 14 days, and immediately notify the pandemic prevention contact person(s) and NTU Health Center. Those under self-health management must refrain from entering NTU premises and classrooms or participating in events on and off the university campus.

.
(2) For those who are among the contacts of Case # 1120, Case # 1127, Case # 1128 and Case#1129 in public places and have suspected symptoms, please refrain from entering the University to attend or teach classes, immediately seek medical attention for COVID-19 testing, and immediately notify the pandemic prevention contact person(s) and NTU Health Center.

(3) Those who fit the above description but do not suffer from any symptoms can still attend or teach classes as usual. Please be advised to wear a medical mask at all times when in public places (e.g. the NTU campus, premises, or shared office spaces). Please also carry out self-health monitoring until May 9 (contacts of Case #1120) , May 10(contacts of Case#1129) or May 12 (contacts of Cases #1127 and 1128).

如果你用緊 Samsung 嘅 Android 手機，你只要去到 「設定」、「進階功能」、「Dual Messenger」，你就會見到包括 WhatsApp 在內，支援兩個程式同時開啟嘅社交及即時通訊程式，你只要好似我咁打開 WhatsApp 旁邊嘅選項，之後確認同埋等一陣，另一個 WhatsApp 就安裝好，你會見到右下角會多咗個符號識別佢係另一個 WhatsApp，
你只要開啟呢個 WhatsApp，按正常嘅程序啟動另一個電話號碼就可以喇。

提提你喇，如果你用兩個 WhatsApp 嘅聯絡人係唔同，你可以揀埋 Dual Messenger 下面嘅「使用獨立聯絡人清單」，咁樣所有第二套 Messenger、包括呢個額外嘅 WhatsApp，都會用呢一個 Contact list 喇！

如果你係用緊小米同埋紅米手機，佢地都一樣有類似嘅功能！你可以去到「設定」、「應用雙開」、之後搵番 WhatsApp 再啟動同確認就搞掂！你只要開啟呢個 WhatsApp，按番正常嘅程序啟動另一個話號碼就搞掂喇。

你可以試下「平行空間」又或者「雙開空間」如果只需要雙開即時通訊軟件同埋社交應用程式，只要揀「精簡版」就可以喇。裝好之後只要按指示，揀番要雙開 WhatsApp，安裝程式就可以啟動！

不過留意呢類第三方軟件，唔係手機功應商提供，可能會無咁穩定，亦都機會出現廣告。

Welfare Week will be held on 10 Nov to 14 Nov. All engineering members can get an exquisite welfare pack and a free Phocus photo-shooting service. Furthermore, there will be an escape game for every HKU students.

The information of Engin’ Escape:
Being a spcae-time police, you have caught a criminal. However, you do not have enough evidence to arrest and charge him. You have to find the evidence in three different spaces, and for each time, you have at most 25 minutes. Members can form teams to join the escape game, and every team should consist up to 4 people. Plesae be remined, the contact person MUST be our member.
