【這是陪著孩子練習英文閱讀的日常,不完美,但很真實】
每次在推薦繪本時,除了會建議共讀的年齡之外,有些如果適合當成讀本選讀,我也會特別標示出來,因為正在學習英文閱讀的孩子們讀到自己喜歡的故事時,總是練讀得特別起勁. 過程中,碰到了比較難拼讀、認讀的字,也不會輕易說放棄,因為他們的目標是"自己讀完自己喜歡的故事".
12月份推薦的新繪本裡,我家女兒(目前小二)最喜歡的是 The Blue Balloon 那本. 連續好幾個晚上寫完功課就拿著書要我 聽 她 唸. 其中一個晚上她還特別興奮的跟我連說了三次: "我要唸,我要唸,我要唸!",想說用影音檔幫她紀錄一下. 後來我自己又聽了幾次,覺得這影音檔可以當示範說明在陪孩子練習英文閱讀時我們大人可以從旁協助他們的地方,像是:
*把字認錯時(看到blew卻唸成blow),我們指著字,讀出正確的音,接著請孩子再讀過.
*一直認錯讀錯的字(像a / an),可以先停下來,讓孩子仔細多認讀幾次. 我家女兒很多時候都沒有認真在看字,所以常常會有像是把in/on ; a/an唸錯的時候,我會提醒她不要急,看清楚再讀出來就好.
*孩子有時急著唸,會把自己原本可以拼讀出來的字給拚錯(像是r-u-b),這時我們可以把單字的發音分解,好讓孩子有機會再聽一次拼讀一次.
*孩子在練習讀的過程中,我們有時可以停下來,問看看他們是否有理解自己剛讀到的某個單字,句子,或是段落的意思,這樣同時也在累積他們的英文閱讀理解經驗.
*最後,也是最重要的,不管孩子練讀得如何,我們都要適時的給他們鼓勵,那會是他們練習過程中最棒的動力.
英文閱讀還有理解能力的養成都需要靠不斷的練習才能從中累積經驗. 希望孩子們都能用比較有趣愉快的方式累積英文閱讀力. 有其他相關問題的朋友們可以在留言區裡或私訊提問喔!
