現在社會，幾乎每個父母都會為孩子取個洋名。有的家長覺得這樣比較容易叫孩子的名，有的認為這樣才跟得上時代。

但我們畢竟是華人，刻在墓碑上的，終究是華文名。華文的源起在歷史中已隱藏著玄秘的力量，因此一個好的中文名有著巨大的力量來加持一個孩子八字的不足，不是英文名字能比得上的。

有的父母取名憑當時的感覺，有的父母有家譜的傳統。前者可能感情用事，後者就一定比較有智慧嗎？

畫家在描繪物象時，除了呈現其本身的形體風貌外，有時又進一步賦予了更深的文化意涵，尤其常取中文字「同音」和「諧音」（近似音）的特色，傳達人們嚮往美好、理想生活之祝願。如以蝙蝠與鹿，代表「福祿雙全」，魚代表「年年有魚」等，此延伸之寓意，體現了人類社會的民情風俗及精神文化層面。

　　汪承霈，善長作詩詞、書法與畫花卉。畫中所選取的元素，均有其吉祥寓意，如柏樹、稻穗插瓶中諧音為「歲歲平安」，流雲紅蝙蝠紋花瓶，幡旗置於花座旁，取雙關諧音，寓意「洪福齊天」。笙音同「升」，祝頌加官晉爵。柏音同百、蝙蝠、幡旗、笙組成「百福繁生」，則象徵幸福好運，是件富含吉祥寓意之繪畫作品。

【Illustrating the Idea of Imperial Poetry on Flourishing with a Hundred Blessings】

Qing dynasty

Wang Cheng-pei excelled at poetry and was gifted at calligraphy and painting flowers. Cypress and ears of rice in Chinese form a homophone for "years of peace." The vase here, decorated with auspicious clouds and red bats, is also accompanied by a pennant, its meaning in Chinese a metaphor for "fortune overflowing to the heavens." The reed pipe and halberd are likewise a homophone for "promotion," serving as a blessing for advancement in rank. The bronze "dou" vessel and flat "hu" convey the meaning of "pecks of gold coming in daily." Moreover, the Chinese word for "cypress" is related to the word for "hundred," while the bats, pennant, and reed pipe combine to express the idea of "flourishing with a hundred blessings," symbolizing great fortune and luck.

Red sea bream is a name given to at least two species of fish of the family Sparidae, Pagrus major and Pagellus bogaraveo. Pagellus bogaraveo is also known as blackspot sea bream.
In Japan, Pagrus major is known as madai (真鯛, or "genuine tai") and is prized both for its flavor and for its traditional use as an auspicious food often served at New Year's and festive occasions such as weddings. In Korea, it is known as Ch'amdom (참돔). Pagrus major is also the most commonly eaten fish in Taiwan. This fish is grilled over charcoal or wood fire in Spain and known as "besugo". It can also be served with buckwheat groats. Also a closely related fish known as Pandora in the eastern Mediterranean.

嘉鱲;屬於鯛科魚類，大家都叫牠「真鯛」，這種魚的體表覆滿艷麗的銀紅色鱗片，其間還點綴著寶藍色斑點，是所有鯛科魚類中外型最艷麗也最討喜的魚兒..有著紅裳艷姬的美名。
台灣傳統上對於魚類美味排名：「一午、二鯧，三鮸、四嘉鱲」可見人們對它的好評。
中文名：嘉鱲魚
英文名：Red seabream
學名：Pagrus major
俗名：真鯛,正鯛、,加臘
嘉鱲魚體型為側扁的橢圓形，頭部比例較大，背部稍微隆起，野生魚體色呈淡紅色，而養殖的體色較黑。 生活的地區主要以砂泥底質海域及礁石區。食性為肉食性，以底棲生物為食。產卵期在4-6月，此時會遷移到較淺水域產卵。通常為群棲性，隨季節改變成群洄游，變換其棲所。台灣則分布於南部、西部、北部、東北部及澎湖海域。 基隆白燈每年冬天都有機會釣到。
嘉鱲魚是台灣的高級海鮮之ㄧ，也是海水箱網養殖的重要魚種。現在市場或是餐廳所見的嘉鱲，大多是人工養殖。食用方式以生魚片及燒烤的方式最常見，另外也可以用清蒸、醋椒及香煎等方式烹調。
