Situasi : Princess Love sebenarnya macam terkejut dan pelik tengok one of our neighbour’s who is from Germany and happens to be one of her biggest fan. Anytime there’s a newspaper article about us or especially about Princess Love, she’ll slip it under Nanna’s door. So when she happened to come over to have a chat with Nanna, Aunty Erika got super excited to see her and began talking non stop excitedly and very animatedly with her heavy German accent making Princess Love jadi keras pulak. First night in Tokyo. I almost contemplated to head back early, get a beer from family mart and do some planning and writing. Then I passed by this row of quaint bars.. one especially spoke strongly to me. I turned back, went straight into it and ordered a beer. The guy seated next to me was telling me about their picnic yesterday at a park. I said that's my station! "Oh your hostel to the park is only a stone throw away." He has always wanted to use that phrase but never found the chance and thanked me after. (What?) The guy next to him can't speak English but smiled at me and pointed at the adidas pants I was wearing. He was wearing similar ones too. Turns out he works for adidas Japan. He likes fishing in his free time. The girl next to him is from Osaka. She wrote down on my little orange book for me some places to check out in Osaka. Below the soft yellow light and wood background, the orange notebook on her was a beautiful sight. The girl at the end has features Murakami would describe in his book. I tried not to stare at her. She was speaking to her friends animatedly and I told her I like her features and her expressions. She laughed out loud and told me she was telling the boys what a fucking (she used that word and I don't know why it was so out of place but really cute) awful time she had yesterday at a group date and that all the guys were jerks. I laughed. Perfect time to like someone's expression I said. A well dressed old man came in with his slightly oversized navy jacket, beautifully printed shirt, khaki coloured pants, a fedora that fits so well Erykah badu would approve, grey beard of course. Ordered a drink and stood across me. I love elderly people who dress up. Again I tried not to smile and stare. For too long at least. A drunk white man. A tall lady with a warrior looking built came in with a huge smile and ordered something that came in a small pretty glass. She told everyone she just finished a marathon today. We all cheered. Tokyo. Pleased to meet you.
