A online business which set up their own physical cafe at tripleone somerset recently, we checked out @glaze_by_gunelleb ; seatings are pretty limited here, but i like the counter seats concept which lets you watch the staff at work, pretty therapeutic somehow🙈 We ordered the 𝐉𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧 ($𝟗.𝟓𝟎) a 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗰𝗮𝗸𝗲 🍰 which is their 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱. 𝗜 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵, as the piece i had the sponge was dense and rather dry, not the fluffy kind😅Also i prefer my shortcakes to have a fresh milky flavour which this lacked, and the strawberries were sourish😢 However, I really liked their 𝐂𝐮𝐬𝐜𝐨 ($𝟖.𝟓𝟎)🥰 which is a 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗹 𝗰𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝘂𝗹𝗰𝗲 𝗱𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗻𝘂𝘁𝘀; its a 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗹 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗺𝗲☺️ as this is definitely no watered-down version, with rich caramel notes hitting you in the face without at all being too sweet or cloying 👍🏻👍🏻Granted, the cake layer here didn’t fare too well either (similar to Jardin) but i was more than happy to close one eye because the caramel was just damn luscious🙈 𝗖𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲, 𝗜 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗲𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚 ($𝟖) ,a 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗰𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 filled generously with lime curd and topped with passionfruit which adds a nice crunch. Fried to perfection, the fried chicken are crispy and tender that I can easily finish half a dozen of them on my own. This was SO, SOOOOO DISAPPOINTING!!!! I am obviously not their target audience of #kongnui #港女, many of whom have been posting about this. . I have been drinking the #sugarcane juice from @kunglee1948 for years, and I gotta say that this sorbet tastes nothing like the original. It has been watered down and probably has maybe 1/4 of the sweetness and intensity. In my mind this was a total #FAIL, but this is probably perfect for all the Kong girls who wanna eat this pretty little thing but don’t wanna gain weight. 🙄
