It's true that AI is sometimes overly hyped, with the promises of this technology sometimes stretched to unfeasible bounds. Regardless, two things are clear: 1) AI has tremendous potential for creating "deep value" and 2) one day it will become ubiquitous.
We're not quite there at the point of pervasive and affordable mass adoption. Most of the financial and intellectual capital in the field of AI is currently monopolized by the world's largest tech giants such as Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Alibaba, etc. However, eventually this technology will come down the cost curve, with the IP more readily accessible to those without deep minds and pockets.
