Why Did The Husband Stray & Have An Affair?

    ———————————————

All these while, I have viewers, who are mothers, sharing my videos with their adult children and encouraging them to seek my advice. I sincerely wish to thank them for their trust in me!

Mother’s Day ought to be a joyous day of family reunion, but for some mothers, this is a tough day for them.

In this video, I answer a comment from a viewer, “We toiled together when we were young. Why doesn’t he treasure me and start an affair with another woman?”

The Price of Recycling Old Laptops: Toxic Fumes in Thailand’s Lungs

Crouched ( ) on the ground in a dimly lit factory, women picked through the discarded ( ) innards ( ) of the modern world: batteries, circuit boards and bundles ( ) of wires.

They broke down the scrap ( ) — known as hazardous electronic-waste, or e-waste — with hammers and raw hands ( ). Men, some with faces wrapped in rags ( ) to repel ( ) the fumes, shoveled the refuse ( ) into a clanking ( ) machine that salvages ( ) usable metal.

As they toiled ( ), smoke spewed ( ) over nearby villages and farms. Residents have no idea what is in the smoke — plastic, metal, who knows? All they know is that it stinks and they feel sick.

The factory, New Sky Metal, is part of a thriving ( ) e-waste industry across Southeast Asia, born of China’s decision to stop accepting the world’s electronic refuse, which was poisoning its land and people. Thailand in particular has become a center of the industry even as activists ( ) push back and its government wrestles ( ) to balance competing interests of public safety with the profits to be made from the lucrative ( ) trade.

Last year, Thailand banned ( ) the import of foreign e-waste. Yet new factories are opening across the country, and tons of e-waste are being processed ( ), environmental monitors ( ) and industry experts said.

“E-waste has to go somewhere,” said Jim Puckett, executive director of the Basel Action Network, which campaigns ( ) against trash dumping in poor countries, “and the Chinese are simply moving their entire operations to Southeast Asia.”

“The only way to make money is to get huge volume ( ) with cheap, illegal labor and pollute the hell out of the environment,” he added.

Each year, 50 million tons of e-waste are produced globally, according to the United Nations, as consumers grow accustomed to ( ) throwing away last year’s model and acquiring the next new thing. The notion ( ) of recycling these gadgets sounds virtuous: an infinite loop ( ) of technological utility.

But it is dirty and dangerous work to extract ( ) the tiny quantities of precious metals — like gold, silver and copper — from castoff ( ) phones, computers and televisions.

For years, China took in much of the world’s electronic refuse. Then in 2018, Beijing closed its borders to foreign e-waste. Thailand and other countries in Southeast Asia — with their lax ( ) enforcement of environmental laws, easily exploited ( ) labor force and cozy ( ) nexus ( ) between business and government — saw an opportunity.

“Every circuit and every cable is very lucrative, especially if there is no concern for the environment or for workers,” said Penchom Saetang, head of Ecological Alert and Recovery Thailand, an environmental watchdog ( ).

    Batteries are Included!

“The blessing of the Lord–it makes [truly] rich, and He adds no sorrow with it [neither does toiling increase it].” (Proverbs‬ ‭10:22‬ ‭AMPC‬‬)

When you toil hard by your own efforts to obtain good things, you may be able to get it, but it comes without batteries.

This means that the good thing doesn’t come with the power to sustain it. You have to keep on maintaining it with your own efforts and it’s very tiring.

I have experienced that before—getting good things by forcing it instead of trusting Jesus to provide it through His way.

When you struggle to get things by your own efforts, it can feel like you’re scooping water into a bucket that has a hole at the bottom.

The power to retain the good thing isn’t there. It’s like the moment you get it, somehow something bad will happen and it’s gone.

When you try to get good things your own way, it’s a compromised success—you sacrifice some areas in order to boost a particular area.
It never ends well and just brings unnecessary pain and suffering.

What we need is God’s blessing. With His blessing, batteries are included—the power to sustain and even increase the good thing is supplied.

No stressful labor is needed to upkeep the blessing because it’s a grace gift.

God’s blessing becomes a reality in your life through faith.
When you believe and confess that what you believe is happening, you are able to receive what God wants to supply in your life.

When you see the lavish quality of God’s blessing, you’ll find that the tiny measure of good things you toiled for is an absolute joke.

His favor can add much more to you than you can ever toil for by your own efforts. He can add much more quality and quantity of blessings in much less time!

There is no limit to how much blessings you can receive because Jesus’ finished work at the cross is the infinite payment for your total forgiveness of sins and righteousness before God.

You will never run out of righteousness and God will never run out of supply!

The only limit today is the one you believe exists.

This year, you’ll need the entrance of God’s word to give you light to see your blessings. His word will be a lamp to your feet, showing you the way step by step.

    Majulah Singapura

    My Beloved Homeland
    Musical Arrangement: Isaac Low
    Lyrics: Chong Choon Lee

    Tiny fingers in roughened hand
Along the five-foot way, we went
Safe with Grandpa, by my side
Hand in hand, stride by stride

    Fifty years I waved goodbye
    All those memories passing by
    Grandpa would not recognize
    Those gardens in the sky

    Chorus:
    The red
    The white
    The crescent moon
    The stars are five
Each a decade, thus we have survived

    The red
    The white
    The crescent moon
    The stars are five
Five hundred more years! We won’t be denied!

Many are the hands that toiled
Hearts that beat with fear and joy
Your steps that led the way ahead
Now they lead me home instead

I look above, the star-lit night
And down to gaze the boulevard
My li’l ones, they skip and run
    Without worry or want

    Chorus:
One Nation, our pride, one future in our hands
We’ll brave the world now and to come,
On my beloved homeland, I stand!

    Final Chorus:
    The red
    The white
    The crescent moon
    The stars are five
Each a decade, thus we have survived

    Our hearts
    Our minds
    Our spirit strong
    Our will to strive
Five hundred more years! We won’t be denied!

I was given an opportunity to sing an original composition of Ms. Chong Choon Lee entitled, My Beloved Homeland. It was submitted for SG50 gift of songs in celebration for the 50 years of Singapore.

Shaquille O'Neal, the man with four rings, 28,596 career points and scores of nicknames, has finally decided to call it quits, ending one of the most colorful careers in NBA history that will surely culminate with a Hall of Fame induction.

O'Neal, 39, officially announced his retirement Wednesday using the new social media tool Tout, a real-time video messaging service.

"Once a businesman, always a businessman," O'Neal said, smiling. "I am the emperor of the social media network. Why text when you can Tout?"

O'Neal signed a two-year contract with the Boston Celtics last summer but a persistent Achilles injury will prevent him from fulfilling the terms of the deal. O'Neal first injured his right Achilles on Christmas Day and was able to play only in two of the final 35 games of the regular season.

On April 3 against Detroit, O'Neal returned to the court after a two-month absence and scored six points in a spirited 5 minutes and 29 seconds before coming up lame and limping off the floor. Although his injury was listed as a strained calf, O'Neal said it was the Achilles flaring up again.

"I felt like someone had shot me in the back of my leg," he said.

O'Neal did not play again in the regular season. He sat out the New York Knicks playoff series then tried to return in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against his old team, the Miami Heat. O'Neal logged 8 1/2 minutes in the 97-81 victory but woke up in considerable pain the next morning. His final game was two days later, when he toiled for three minutes of Game 4 before Celtics coach Doc Rivers pulled him for good.

In the final weeks of the the playoffs, O'Neal, over the objections of team physician Brian McKeon, had "more than five" cortisone shots in his Achilles in an attempt to play against the Heat.

"Doc (McKeon) kept telling me, 'No, no,' but I wanted to play so badly," O'Neal said. "My feeling was, 'If it ruptures, it ruptures.' The Celtics were so good to me I wanted to do everything I could to get back on the court for them."

Throughout his time on the sideline, Shaq said, he continued to do rehab as well as work on the treadmill and the exercise bike. He swam each evening at the Thoreau Club in Concord and shot a number of late-night free throws in at the Lincoln-Sudbury High School gymnasium across the street from his rented Sudbury home. He lost 35 pounds and was "feeling great everywhere except for that one little spot behind my heel."

Shaq said McKeon recommended surgery that would "clean up" the area around the Achilles, but O'Neal revealed the recovery time would be close to nine months.

"I really, really thought about coming back," he said, "but this Achilles is very damaged and if I had it done the recovery would be so long we'd have same outcome as this last year -- everyone sitting around and waiting for me.

"I didn't want to let people down two years in a row. I didn't want to hold Boston hostage again.

"I'm letting everybody know now so Danny (Ainge) and the organization can try to get younger talent. I would love to come back, but they say once the Achilles is damaged it's never the same. I don't want to take that chance."

O'Neal said his final months in Boston included some of the darkest days of his career because "I just hated to let the city of Boston down. I really grew to love the place. Everyone was so welcoming to me and treated me so great. They believed in me and they took care of me, especially the great people of Sudbury. I love that town."

O'Neal also had effusive praise for Rivers, whom, he said, was "one of the best I ever played for."

"I thought Doc was fabulous," O'Neal said. "He stressed 'team' all the time, never wavered on that. He kept everyone together. He's an amazing coach. I want to congratulate him on his five years (extension).

"He deserves it. He loves the organization, loves the players, and we all love him back."

O'Neal is acutely aware the Celtics posted a record of 21-4 when he was able to play 20 or more minutes this season. The chemistry he shared with the Big Three (Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen) and Rajon Rondo, he said, will be an enduring memory, leaving him to wonder what would have happened had he stayed healthy.

"We were supposed to win this year but 'supposed' doesn't count," he said. "The path was there for us. All the so-called super powers were gone -- LA, San Antonio. I really feel if I was on the court we would have done it, but I don't believe in 'ifs.' "

O'Neal said he wasn't prepared yet to reminisce about his long and prolific career, which produced three championships with the Lakers and one with the Heat. "Let's save that for the press conference on Friday," said O'Neal, who will hold that media event at his Isleworth home.
