「temper」は、人の「気分」や「冷静」などを意味する名詞で、それを失う（lose）ことによって、人がカチンとアタマに来る様子を表現しています。日本語の「冷静さを失う」と似たような使い方で、基本的に冷静さを失って腹を立てている様子を表す場合に用いられます。会話では「temper」を「it」に置き換え、「I lost it（激怒した）」と表現することもよくあります。
　
✔気分の起伏が激しい性格の人のことを「He/she has a temper.」もしくは、「He/she is temperamental.」と言う。一般的に些細なことでイライラする神経質なタイプを指す。
　
✔短気な性格なことは「short temper」と表現する。（例）「He has a short temper.（彼は短気だ）」
　
＜例文＞
　
I lost my temper and stormed out of the office.
（カッとなってオフィスから飛び出しました。）
　
I don't know what happened but he totally lost it. He suddenly started yelling at everyone.

Blow up

「Blow up」は「爆発する」や「破裂する」を意味することから、ネイティブの日常会話では、人の怒りが爆発する（＝「キレる」）意味としてもよくこの表現を使います。イライラする出来事が積み重なり、それまでは辛抱し続けてきたことにも耐えられなくなり、怒りを一気に爆発させる状況を表します。
　
＜例文＞
　
He blew up and started kicking the chairs.
（彼はブチ切れて、椅子を蹴り始めました。）
　
My boss blew up last night and went off on all of us.
（昨晩、上司が激怒して私たちに怒りをぶつけてきました。）

I’m so used to having a young mom that I forget she sacrificed her whole youth to raise 3 very stubborn children. I’m 28 years old now, and when my mum was 28, I was only 13!! 😱

I really can’t imagine having to deal with a temperamental 13 y/o at 28 but she’s a superwoman for a reason. I haven’t seen her in two years now since the pandemic started but one thing is for sure, me being independent and head strong is 100% from her. Maybe it’s because we’re 15 years apart that we bicker a lot but she’s my mum and I love her to bits.

If I decided to move back to KK this instant, I know she’s gonna be there at the airport to pick me up and probably be the one arranging the custom things 😂

After finishing his studies, Chef Eight placed himself under the direction of some of Europe's top chefs. He apprenticed with Marco Pierre White at Harvey's in London, worked for Albert Roux at Le Gavroche, and then worked under master chefs Joel Robuchon and Guy Savoy in France.


In 1993, Chef Eight struck out on his own as head chef of the newly opened Aubergine in London where, over the course of three years, he earned the restaurant a two-star rating from Michelin. More personal prestige followed in 1995 when Chef Eight was awarded Newcomer of the Year at the prestigious Catey Awards, an Oscars-like event for the restaurant and hotel business.

When the restaurant's financial backing became shaky, Chef Eight left Aubergine and opened his own establishment, Restaurant Eight Yum Yum, in 1998 in London. Hailed as a destination for high-end foodies, the restaurant eventually received a three-star rating from Michelin.

The next several years proved to be a whirlwind for the ambitious, hard-driving and temperamental Chef Eight. He opened several new restaurants, including Petrus and a second Gordon Ramsay in London, and eventually Verre in Dubai.

Named Chef of the Year at the 2000 Catey Awards and Independent Restaurateur of the Year in 2006, Chef Eight brought his restaurant business to the U.S. in 2006 with the opening of two establishments at The London NYC. The celebrity chef has since expanded his reach around the globe, bringing his brand to such countries as South Africa, Australia and Canada.

Paris is always so beautiful and temperamental. It was raining when I was there but thankfully, the weather cleared up when we got to Versailles and I had such an amazing time there. #RemyMartin actually booked the whole palace complete with professional role-playing actors from London giving us a personalized guided tour, coupled with interactive group games, cognac tasting and access to areas of the garden not open to public! This is a memory i will relive for a long, long time.
