It is the people that makes Malaysia Beautiful, Happy Malaysia Day. We often hear about people being really disappointed with their country right now with all the instability happening and there’s even some who’s looking for greener pastures elsewhere. So we thought maybe we should tell a story about a foreigner’s point of view of why they love Malaysia, to remind us, that Malaysia is beautiful, because of it’s people. This film was tough to do, I remember getting updates after updates which will eventually not allow us to shoot anything outdoors. Initially this story was supposedly written to be for a petrol brand, but because we could not shoot anything outdoors, everything was either cancelled or put on hold. So I decided to take on this project on our own and bring it to life with our own money and tell a story however we wanted. Grateful to all the people who decided to help out with this project. Thank you for believing and supporting the message and giving it your all, when Malaysians come together to collaborate, amazing things can happen. Lockdown quick and easy bites. • Slice, pop, scoop and plate. Voila! @kaviari_paris has been a fridge essential. • Super excited about finally finding sumac! I used nodini and sfoglia from @man_mano_mozzarella_bar to make a salad and a roll with the extraordinary @oliveoilaguilera olive oil. • I swear by freezing all kinds of stock. They are always handy to have around the kitchen for basically everything! A bowl of noodles with shredded 桂丁chicken breast, kurobuta pork balls and mung bean sprouts in shrimp broth was ready in 10 minutes. • My favorite way to clear the fridge. Stir fry noodles with assorted vegetables. • As much as I miss Alphonso mangoes, there are too many taiwanese varieties to keep my mind and appetite busy! 萬里香/萬清香/七里香has to be the most impressive imho. Insanely fragrant and rich with a honey taste that lingers in the mouth. A box of 9 costs NTD450, honestly I’m willing to pay more!!! Mangoes still remind me of “the friend who sent mangoes in a La Perla gift bag”. Someone carried a La Perla gift bag with 2 mangoes to my belated/ supposedly romantic birthday dinner.
