全球超過 7 億人依然在極低收入的情況下勉力生存，每年有五百萬名孩童在五歲前死亡，起因多為負擔不起相對容易治療且便宜的疾病治療方式。
Over 700 million people still subsist on extremely low incomes. Every year, five million children still die before their fifth birthday, often from diseases that could be prevented or cured with relatively cheap and simple treatments.

三位學者採用新方法以抵抗全球貧困，他們將議題範圍限縮至可處理、更精確的問題，例如：最有效地介入、改善孩童健康與教育支出。
This year’s Laureates have introduced a new approach to obtaining reliable answers about the best ways to fight global poverty. It divides this issue into smaller, more manageable questions – for example,the most effective interventions for improving educational outcomes or child health.

他們重新形塑了發展經濟學研究，並扮演關鍵性的角色。他們的研究不僅能緩解全球貧窮，對於濟貧也深具潛力，讓窮人的生活得到改善。
The laureates have played a decisive role in reshaping research in development economics. Their research has already helped in alleviating global poverty and has great potential to further improve the lives of the most impoverished people on the planet.

三位學者的實驗研究大幅改良人類對抗全球貧困的能力，只在二十年間便轉變了當前繁盛活躍的研究領域─「發展經濟學」。
The research conducted by the 2019 Economic Sciences Laureates has considerably improved our ability to fight global poverty. In just two decades, their new experiment-based approach has transformed development economics, which is now a flourishing field of research.
