    I had a few options as the background color for #StillGoodEP and we were all discussing (@luftmanp , @charlesnkeys and I ) I love them all!!

    Then i stoppeds for a moment and went for the first one as it reminded me of the cover of one of my favourite books #UntetheredSoul by #MichaelASinger ✨ It saved me from those days feeling called from the inside, while being snowed in confusions of my thoughts ✨ if you felt like you’re not in tuned with your heart and soul, you might wanna read it 🔮 ( all the quotes in this post are from Untethered Soul)

    coincidently, back in November last year when I was going through a tough time, I found out the Japanese word for this colour ✨ they called it “mizu”… “In Japan, 'mizu' is as different from 'blue' as 'green' is from 'blue.” I guess this colour has become the representation of - well, let me try to come up with a word for it - maybe, “quietly tremendous transformation” to me, like, some sort of transitions… the kind of revolution that doesn’t happen overnight, but little by little each day💓 with both darkness and lightness ✨ if you’ve been with me through my captions, you have probably read it! ✨

    that’s it, i just wanna share with you how this colour kept coming back to me at different stages of my life to remind me how much I’ve grown, how much everyone around me has grown, and how much more to discover about life ✨ it keeps coming back to remind my heart to be wide opened to life i guess 🧚🏻‍♀️ i hope you, too, will find little hints, little messages life does give each day customized to be found by you to support for your journey 💓 have a great day and thank you for reading, darlin’, sending you love and light! — Kim.

    「How is your sister?」と「What is your sister like?」の違いが分かりますか？

    タイトルにある2つの質問内容は一見おなじように見えますが、実は明確なニュアンスの違いがあります。質問の意図に応じて「How _____?」と表現するのか「What _____ like?」と表現するのか使い分ける必要がるので、今日はその違いについて触れてみようと思います。

    状況を聞くなら「How _____?」、説明を聞くなら「What _____ like?」

    人の気分や健康状態、または天候のように絶えず変化する状況に対して「〜はどうですか？」と尋ねる場合は「How _____?」が使われ、人の性格や外見など本質的な変化がない物事の説明を聞きたいのであれば「What _____ like?」を使います。因みに「How is ____ like?」と言っている人をよく見かけますが、これは誤った言い方なので気をつけましょう。

    何かの出来事に対して「〜はどうだったか？」と尋ねる場合、相手が感じたことや思ったことなど単に感想が聞きたいのであれば「How _____?」で表現します。しかし感想だけでなく、その出来事の具体的な内容についても知りたいのであれば「What ____ like?」を使います。
    　
    ✔「How _____?」の代わりに「What ____ like?」を使うことも出来るが、状況によっては多少違和感を与える。

    【如何用英文說很忙呢?】

    要用英文說自己很忙碌，除了用 busy 外，大家還會用哪些單字或片語呢?

    以下這些是Gary這些年教英語、看電影及與母語人士對談常用到的，也常聽到的片語或慣用語，提供給大家參考囉!

    (1) I'm busy. (基本的)

    (2) I'm as busy as a bee. (像蜜蜂一樣忙碌)

    (3) I'm as busy as a beaver. (像河狸一樣忙碌)

    (4) I'm swamped with a lot of work. (被工作「淹」沒了)

    (5) I'm snowed under. (忙到像被雪覆蓋住、埋在下面)

    (6) I have a lot on my plate. = My plate is full. (我的盤子上有很多東西，引申為很多事要忙)

    (7) I have my hands full. (手拿滿了東西，沒空間可以拿別的東西了，所以超忙!)

    (8) I'm up to my ears in other work. (工作滿到耳朵了，所以超忙!)

    (9) I'm buried with work. (被工作給埋了，所以很忙)
