I was, however, very impressed by the ones from @nonamebakestore.sg by Chef Melissa, who worked as a head pastry chef at fine dining restos—Whitegrass, Cloudstreet.. Covid happened and now she’s one-womaning at her home-based business. As much as they sound and look common, the tarts such as the Pistachio Strawberry hide robustly flavoured layers, featuring rich pistachio cream amidst tart fruit. While the Chocolate Hazelnut veils textures of silky dark chocolate as well as thin and smooth salted caramel within its buttery tart casing. Mum said “Your bro usually quite fussy one, but he liked this so I shared it with him. I like the balance of the moist matcha cake and crunch at the base.” The crunch is a nutty, praline-like one. Not a sugar/cracker one. The pastry box will set you back $34, or $9-$12 each. They also have a bday cake-sized $50 Strawberry Shortcake that has fluffy sponge layers and milky fresh cream 🤤 If I could add a verdict it’s 9/10 for me!
