【國家馬車博物館】@里斯本貝倫區
【Museu Nacional dos Coches/ National Coach Museum】@ Belém district, Lisbon

里斯本貝倫區的國家馬車博物館在去年6月時, 搬到新的、更寬敞和設計新穎的建築物 -- 由曾奪得普立茲建築獎的建築師 Paulo Mendes da Rocha 所設計建築, 有種喚然一新的感覺!

The National Coach Museum in Belém district, Lisbon, is one of the most popular and visited museums in Portugal. It opened in 1905 in the royal riding school that was part of Belém Palace. And in June last year, it moved into the more spacious and modern structure which was designed by Pulitzer prize-winning architect Paulo Mendes da Rocha.

新的國家馬車博物館, 展覽的物品更多, 我在內花了接近四小時慢慢欣賞和拍照。國家馬車博物館准許參觀者拍照, 但不能使用閃光燈。

The newly located National Coach Museum carries a wider collection of items. I spent nearly four hours appreciating them and taking photos. National Coach Museum allows visitors to take pictures, but no flashing is allowed.

全博物館最古老的馬車, 是一架西班牙製造, 在1619年負責接載當時西班牙國王菲臘普二世到訪葡萄牙訪問時所使用的馬車, 極具歷史價值。

另外還包括對葡萄牙歷史很具意義的一架馬車 -- Regicide Landau 由葡萄牙本土製造, 在1908年2月1日, 王室成員坐在馬車上, 當途經到里斯本市中心的 Terreiro do Paço (就是繁忙的商業廣場) 時, 當時的葡萄牙國王卡路士一世與王儲路易士菲臘普, 齊被暗殺身亡。參觀這架馬車時, 大家還可以清楚見到馬車上的子彈孔。

The oldest coach in the museum is "Coach of Filipe II" which belonged to the Spanish King of Filipe II. King of Filipe II used this coach during his visit to Portugal in 1619.

Another carriage with much historical significance is "Regicide Landau" which was manufactured by local Portuguese company, On February 1, 1908, the Royal Family was travelling on this carriage and when they were passing the Terreiro do Paço (i.e. the busy Praça do Comércio), they suffered an attack in which the then King of Portugal Carlos I and and the heir to the throne Prince Luís Filipe were assassinated. The bullet holes on the carriage are still visible.
