🎶 Ain't about what's waiting on the other side, it’s the climb 🎶 You know what I kept saying when I saw the Parthenon. How is this still standing after thousands of years? Truth is it shouldn’t be after everything that it’s gone through I’ve the centuries. In fact, at one point not only was Acropolis bombed by foreign armies in order to take over the country but over the years many thief’s and scavengers have come ravishing this ancient site leaving almost nothing but rubble. Walking through Acropolis you can’t help and notice the ongoing effort to save this ancient site and because of this I applaud the Greek government and many other nationalities that come together to help rebuild and preserve this timeless treasure. Now I realise the urgency of the matter above that it is very very important that visitors at no particular time remove/pick up a single artefact or rock to bring home as a souvenir for keepsake for that matter in order to ensure that this ancient site will be around for many many more years to come. Other than the Parthenon situated on top of the hill, there are also other sites to explore surrounding the Parthenon such as the Propylaea, the Erechtheion and the Temple of Athena Nike. There is also a small musuem but at the time we went it was closed perhaps for refurbishment we’re not sure but you could always ask some of the caretakers that are stationed around the Acropolis for more information. It sounds cliche but truly whilst standing in the midst of these colossal monuments one couldn’t help but to imagine what it would be like back then in its hey day. *sign* if only I had a time machine. Found it from the same shop where I bought the sake cup. It came with a set of 4 but only this one was repaired by using a Chinese repairing method. The other 3 cups was bought by a man except this cos he wanted something perfect. So I bought this one in a very good price and I am starting to do the refurbishment.
